It will be back to same old NOLA by Mardi Gras. That said though, this Super Bowl really did show a glimpse of what NOLA could be when people give a damn and have pride in where they live. It was nice while it lasted.

Without New Orleans as an economic driver, Louisiana is Kentucky or Kansas or West Virginia, quickly.
Kentucky is nice. I love going to Lexington and Louisville.

Six months from now, it will still look better than Baton Rouge.

I love how it's mostly posters from Baton Rouge that say NOLA is a shite hole.

I’ve known NO for over 50 years. It’s a shite hole. At one time it wasn’t. Care to guess why?

Most cities get a financial boost from Super Bowls and there are typically permanent improvements and infrastructure made the citizens can enjoy.
I expect none of that in New Orleans. Local and state politicians will line their pockets and that’s about it as usual.

Why do people go out of their way to be negative on here?

You can roll a turd in glitter, but at the end of the day, it’s still a turd.

It's because we know what one looks like.

As soon as Mardi Gras is over Destroya will cancel Sidney's contract and the quarter will return to its glorious piss/beer melling self.

You forgot the ghetto rap blasting convertibles going slowly down Bourbon. Ruins the entire FQ vibe. Canal and Bourbon is where the jungle begins. Laffite’s still feels the same but only because the crowds are less. There’s a large enough break in bars to keep it somewhat the same. White people are relegated to other streets now. Towards the river that is.

Nola is the nations tourist trap.
Every once in a while they doll it up nice to be on tv and pulls in people looking for the New Orleans experience. Then when they get here they are hit with the smell of piss, overpriced food that's either swimming in fat or 1/2 sugar, a parking ticket, constant threat of potential violence, trash lining the streets. Then when they get back to Ohio they have a red light ticket waiting for them in the mail.
Nola gets by from being romanced in books and tv. Not from what it has to offer.
There's a reason its the #1 least re-visited city.

I was impressed with the way the CBD and FQ looked Thursday night and this afternoon. I wish it was always that way.
We’re only one Sidney D Torres away from it being always that way.
