My guess is that he was making a huge profit off selling human bones. Probably several grand per set of bones. He probably had anywhere from $500,000 to $800,000 worth of remains stored in his house.

He probably bought them off the Internet. That's a thing. It is illegal though. I know a guy that worked at a crime lab that got arrested for stealing body parts and selling them on the dark web. The dummy is a felon now.

I had an oral pathology professor in dental school that researched oral cancer. When he passed away years after retiring, his house went up for sale. The new owners found dozens of specimen jars in his basement filled with human tongues. They freaked out and called the cops thinking he was a serial killer.??

You have to seriously be motivated to be a grave robber like that. First, you have to dig down 6 feet with a hole swing big enough to open the vault then casket. Then those vault lids are heavy as frick.

The real mystery to me is these cemeteries have people who visit, and those who do lawn maintenance. If he had hundreds of bodies, how the hell did no one notice earlier?

Yeah. That mf'er must have the digging skills of a honey badger to move all that dirt and refill the hole in one night.

The only thing that's even remotely safe for work that can be shared from that link. Just setting some ambiance for those who aren't brave enough to just click anything that comes their way.

No way is this part of an occult ritual. Or suspicious at all.

Hospital parts?? "Hey Nunzio -- we're thinking of featuring another awesome skull-and femur wall. Whatchoo got for me, Goombah?"

The double septum and the neck tat. He didn't discriminate, he stole death of all ages from past to present.
It was Pennsylvania, a fairly populous (re the living) state and nobody noticed Mr. Weird hanging around grave yards and Mausoleums?

A serious question: what do you do next if you are in charge of the crime scene. I doubt he number the remains and had a book with the numbers and where each came from. Run DNA on every bone to return it to family?

Ossuaries

I didn’t know they existed until I was in my 30s

The most striking I’ve visited is the Douaumont Ossuary on the site of the Verdun WWI Battlefield. It is surrounded by traditional graves.

Under the floor of this entire structure are bones from over 100,000 individuals (from all Countries who had troops there) in a basement visible from arched vents on the perimeter of the building.

The Nazis respected it in the ‘40s when they overran France.

It is stunning.

Sounds like he didn’t kill them so I’m guessing grave robber? Though that’s totally done looking for valuables like jewelry not sure why he kept the bones.

I’m genuinely curious as to what he was doing. I probably don’t want to know but I can’t help it

I’m assuming he would go late at night. If it’s a rural cemetery or one that’s not directly near a lot of traffic nobody would really notice

How is there that big of a black market for human bones? What purpose do people use them for?
