It’s not us. It’s the general public perception that a trophy hunter is ONLY after the antlers or the mount. Nothing more.
So the use of the term is detrimental to your everyday hunter
I do see what you’re saying but your definition is not they way the majority of the public sees it. So the issue is spreading flawed or false information to the ignorant public

Such a fricking lie.

I wouldn't do this, but I see why its necessary in this case because of this:
And lol at people calling it a "rare black giraffe" when they just get darker with age. And also saying they're declining when scientists say otherwise.
Hopefully it fed some villagers though.

the giraffe she killed was 18, too old to breed, and had killed three younger bulls who were able to breed, causing the herd’s population to decrease.

Without researching, how can a giraffe kill another. Secondly it was proved this one was a serial killer (3 others dead?). Kinda sounds like BS off the top
Probably answered in the thread, but giraffes can be violent AF.

How so?

Because life finds a way. Humans killing animals is just a blip in the life of this planet.
Hunting for food, no issues. Big game hunting for a trophy is a bunch of pansies.
Killing a giraffe has to be one of the dumbest ideas ever and feeds the trolls that hate true hunters.
But please go on with your dumb arse point.

There's a village and conservation group in South Africa that disagree with you.

A giraffe at the BR Zoo killed one of the others in the enclosure around a year ago. In the wild there is more competition for dominance.

I get why this giraffe had to be eliminated though. It was harming the population. It had to be killed. That is the only time I think its fine to do stuff like this.
If you're killing it and it wasn't harming the population and was still an effective breeder, but you hide behind the "I donated tons of money to conservation" argument, that is bullshite. Just donate the money without killing it if that is why you did it.
I just don't understand why people are so proud of killing things like this and put it on social media. Its asking for backlash. I guess they like the attention.

Even an A-Hole can help with conservation. This particular male was a problem for the herd as a whole.

You are viewing it wrong.
Think of the giraffe as an economic incentive and you will realize his point.

makes killing a deer as easy as big game hunting please PM so I can buy some of that shite
All while in a carpeted box blind and a buddy heater.
I dont think it gets much easier

Well we breed cows and chickens in abundance to eat. We don’t breed giraffes and she didn’t use the animal for anything.

The segment of the general public that isn't familiar with hunting probably thinks all hunting is about antlers anyway. They don't make the distinction.

Perception is not reality. I can have the perception that a cat is the same thing as a dog, but it doesn't make it true. Yes, their perception can push policy on hunting, but all that means is that we have failed to paint the true picture. What exactly is flawed about what I've said?

it is pretty sad to see a buncha pussy arse mfers flying half way around the world to shoot a giraffe.
i like to hunt, but there's no trophy if you're using a fricking rifle.
this is right up there with people that own pit bulls.
