I could have bought a vacation home for what I’ve spent on hunting the last 20 years. I kill 1 or maybe 2 deer a year. Don’t even fill all my tags or take advantage of all the exotics I have on my ranch and deer lease. I do it for the experience and being outdoors. No guided hunts just do it myself.

10-4 The last buck I killed got a little ridiculed at camp, I had to explain that he costs me $5,000.00 in license, corn, gas, cloths, on and on.

And I won't be bushhogging at all. The locals with cows can bale it. Or it can grow 8 feet tall at at 5.40 a gallon for red diesel.

I’ve let a few buddies kill Nilgai on my place and it’s $1600 to $3000 once they kill a free animal depending on mount and processing fees. Sausage gets expensive quick.
Two places I use charged $1050 for whitetail and $1100 for velvet axis shoulder mounts. Nilgai are usually more.

You can shift some molecules between the two streams though. Maximize diesel or gasoline production.
The blocking of the two straight and ME production had cut off supply to East Asian countries. Russia/Ukraine has cut off some oil flows to east Europe.
Despite some talking points; both are very much responsible for the higher prices.

You aren't the only one. Mind you it is a data point of one week, but the weekly EIA report showed a decent amount of demand destruction likely occurred week ending 9/11.
Paired with higher interest rates we might be seeing the correction starting this week.

Early in the war, four years ago when Putin first invaded Ukraine, they bombed a hospital there, along with about everything else along the border. Rescue workers were moving a young woman out on a stretcher who had gone there for one of the happiest moments of life, to have her baby,
She got hit with shrapnel from the bomb blasts and was bleeding heavily. The white sheet they had over her was mostly red. They were trying to get her out of the destroyed building to doctors who might be able to keep her and her baby from bleeding to death.
They weren't successful.
Yet our current criminal administration brags on the genius of the mass murderer responsible. Goes off to Alaska to greet him as a valued friend with a big shite eating smile on his face,

Try having a 835 acre catfish farm that has to be mowed constantly and 35 50hp tractors that run pto driven aeration every single night in this heat to keep the oxygen up. I’ve stopped using the tractors except for extreme emergency and told my bight crew use only the electric aerators. My 60k a month electric bill is bad enough without burning 2,000 gallons a week on diesel. Farm next to mine is only 200 acres and his monthly fuel bill is over 50k. It’s gonna bankrupt some people if this shite doesn’t get better soon

Another interesting ripple is that there appears to be a trucking shortage developing from this.
Relaxed federal laws today.
There are a few avenues of thought here. From independent truckers can't front the money to operate to truckers are spending more active hours due to rack allocations and time spent traveling to available racks.

The whole free food as far as hunting depends on what you want. It doesn’t have to cost that much. If you already own land with deer you don’t have to put out corn. Plant food plots or just hunt in natural areas deer want to be at. If you don’t own land, hunt public land. Then it’s just the cost of license and ammo. Clothes should last years. I’ve had same pair of coveralls for 20 years. Kill a deer and process yourself, I slice and season then tenderize the back straps and tenderloin, and shoulder quarters get ground up with seasonings and a Boston butt for burger/taco meat. Not expensive at all just a little work
But yea if you’re baiting corn, have to have the newest clothes and equipment, get your deer processed and head mounts done it’s gonna be expensive
