Even though I personally agree. This would be constitutional how?
I'm trying to figure out how the constitution figures into this. Doctors have their own sanctioning body and must abide by those rules if they are to remain accredited with them. Being a doctor or lawyer or builder (contractor's license) is voluntary. Nobody forces one to join the group.
I'm saying the sanctioning body could police the profession.
...if they chose to do so.
But $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Gosh, I love the Danish system.
I imagine cardiac ward would fill with med. malpractice attys should that happen here.
I think the $$$$ will win out, though. Pity.

The constitution says that everyone should make as much money as they can, if this board made people get less money then it's unconstitutional.

Based on your posts, one would think every Plaintiff's lawyer puts his name on a billboard. Most of us don't. In fact, over 90% of us don't, but you act as if everybody who practices tort law acts like the buffoons who put their faces on billboards. Most of us don't take every case that comes to us where someone is hurt. Most of us don't take cases where the person's injuries and suffering aren't documented and verified by medical records or wage statements.

I don't apologize for suing someone because my client has actual and verifiable injuries and the insurance companies pre-suit settlement offer doesn't even pay my client's medical bills. People who are actually injured by negligent or reckless conduct shouldn't be denied compensation simply because it's bad for business. Human beings should matter more than profit.
And you shouldn't apologize. I'm dumfounded how often pt's are forced to obtain a lawyer because an insurance company is trying to lowball them on a settlement that won't even cover their out of pocket for medical costs, not to mention missed work etc. Do that many people just accept it and move on? I've seen insurances try this over and over. All it does it piss off the victim and then they want to sue their arse whether they get anything more or not. It's insane.

Good luck with that. Everyone hates PI attorneys until they need one, then they come to the OT to ask for recommendations.

It does doesnt it? I swear it is completely accurate. I don't know enough about lawyers / insurance to even make that up.

Isn't there one on I-20 in Tuscaloosa? Very fitting and appropriate in that shite hole I guess...
Given that his practice is based in Birmingham, the north-central Alabama area is covered in his billboards, no way to prevent it.

Sounds like your insurer fricked you over, take that shite to trial

The most effective answer to all the problems in this thread is professional juries.
Posted on 8/6/17 at 9:42 am to NIH
That's what I think too! They said since it was worth so much money, if the jury somehow found me even 10% at fault it would have exceeded my policy limit, which is high enough it's not minimum. But there was no proof, just a baseless accusation. In fact there was more proof I had nothing to do with it. Still pissed my insurance paid.

quote: Our tort law system is the worst aspect of America And not the Criminal Law System, that for a century and a half has singled out one segment of society for disproportionately more arrests, harsher penalties, and longer sentences by far than others?
Have you ever thought about the possibility that that segment of the population commits more violent crimes than the others?
Instead, I guess you just blame everything on the system and assume that everyone is racist. That's the easy thing to do rather than holding yourself and others responsible for their actions and being accountable. Until the culture changes and those violent crimes become less frequent, the statistics will continue to show which segments of the population commit the most violent crime on average.

You left something out of your boo hoo statement counselor.....
You get the award up to 100k and take 40k. Without you the award would have been 75k.
But you drew it out two years and took real dollars from the injured party pretending it was in their best interest.
