Bought both of my daughters a whistle necklace a while back. You can find them on Amazon. They're somewhat stylish and easier to grab than mace. They also have mace. lol

Wasp & hornet spray. Travels farther and still hurts like a motherF in the eyes.

If you're going that route you might as well just carry bear spray. More distance and stouter than regular pepper spray. You can probably find a designer bear spray holster on Amazon to complete the look.

Belgian Malinois dog

ETA: Have her drive a big redneck looking truck. My wife is a slender person but I think she gets left alone because her truck looks like something a huge roughneck would drive (or an otherwise well-armed person).

Stun gun or pepper spray.

A gun is the best, but I feel like people might be hesitant to kill someone so go with the non lethal.

Bear spray. Don't waste time with other sprays. It's the best thing on the market and if it stops a grizzly, it'll fold a person like a cheap tent.

Situational awareness, good decision making skills and a dependable wingman/battle buddy are the best tools.

They're super handy because you can just clip them onto your keys and forget about them until you need them. If you're thinking about self-defense tools other than a gun, one great option is a protective keychain.

Byrna

I purchased the wife a Byrna pistol that shoots different levels of pain. Order some of the Max pellets as they will stop an attacker. We have two solid pellets loaded to be the first out of the clip followed by three Max pellets. It is easy to handle for someone that does not have firearm experience.

There is a pretty convincing YouTube video where the max pellets are demonstrated on a Marine and the owner of the company takes hits from the solid pellets.
