True, I wouldn’t suggest a Tudor GMT. Didn’t know if the GMT functionality was integral to his purchase.
ETA: I really like the Oris watches in the 1k-ish range, great pieces for that price, it’s just that once you get past 2k, options open up quite a bit and there are some better options IMO.
I’m not opposed to other watches just been eyeing this one for a while now. I do have smallish wrist so that may be an issue.
This is my 41mm so typically I try to keep it around 42mm.

That’s a good looking watch and it wears big. The sellita movement is used by a lot of makers... steinhart, for one. I think about 40 hour reserve. It’s pretty similar to the eta movement you’ll find in a Tag.
If you like it, get it. My advice, don’t get a watch that you think someone else will like. Get a watch that you will like.
Tudor BB with in-house movement and 70 hour reserve is just a bit more. My daily driver is a BB and it’s the cheapest watch in my rotation. My point, it isn’t always about price - wear what you like.

A little more than I like, but I love Oris. Wear a Divers Date 200+ days of the year.

Have owned an Oris in the past. Very much liked it and would recommend. Only issue with some Oris watches is if you ever want to change the band to a different band or strap, you can’t. Can’t really tell with that one, but Oris are very good watches that look great also.

Oris is a solid watch. Not many at this price point with their reputation that offers a ceramic bezel. Tudor Black Bay doesn't.

The tegimented bracelet on the Sinn is super nice for a $2k watch...but still, the options for other bands, and the overall look with other bands is pretty damn hard to beat for $2k.
Doesn’t fit into the group think of the OT, but some of us don’t want to.
Figure I got so many happy votes the first time, I’d just push them all in.

Sinn is on my short list of watches to get.

I like the Sinn 556i. Not so much the UTC

I really like Oris. I don't own one, and whenever I've shopped I always found something I wanted more, but for whatever reason I've always loved the simplicity of the ProPilot Big Crown

I’d get the 856 B-uhr before the utc, but I thought he was going for that with the Oris. I love the B-uhr limited...a lot. Would be my $2k watch choice for sure. I’d definitely get the bracelet...and I don’t even like bracelets. The tegimented look is perfect for one.

sharp looking watch. i have a Oris Pro Diver Chrono in my regular rotation. Its a 52mm case so it is a big watch but i like it.

Nice looking and well made. Oris is a good brand. I will echo some other suggestions around that range: Seiko diver or Prospex line, Sinn, Tudor, Omega...although some of those have hiked up prices now.

Is a date on a watch a must? I think everyone I have has a date.
Posted on 5/11/21 at 2:18 pm to Rize
I’d rather a cleaner dial, but yea my everyday watch has one...and it’s the one weird part of the watch (it’s at 6 instead of 3).

You trying to tie a tourniquet with that watch, baw?
