I actually enjoy working in the yard as long as I don't have to shovel in the middle of summer. I prefer to cut grass on Saturday or Sunday mornings before it gets hot. If it's going to rain I'll hurry up and cut after work

My parents both worked and raised 3 kids and cleaned their home and mowed their yard. If cleaning takes more than 6 hours a week, you're doing it wrong.

I try to cut it during the week when I get home from work. I figure I am already tired and up from being at work all day so what is another two hours to cut the grass. That way I have my weekend free to do what I want to and not have to do yardwork. I might cut the grass on tuesday evening and then finish up the edging on wednsday.

It all depends on my weekend plans. Most of the time I like to knock out my edge work during the week that way I only have to pick up poop and cut grass on the weekend.

First big cut this year was Sunday.

My old mower had a carburetor issue. I tore it down and cleaned it out with carburetor cleaner, but it would only run for 3-4 seconds after priming it.

So, I did what every other OTer would do, beat the shite out of it and bought a new one.

Weekend normally.. Unless we have a gathering or something then i'll do it before.

I used to pay someone to do it.. but @ 60 buck a week during the summer when i don't do shite on the weekends was wasting money. Plus I enjoy putting one the headphones listening to some tunes and riding around my yard for 30 mins... Clears the mind and helps me think.

Housekeeper on the other hand we only use before family functions ..No real need to have one on full rotation b/c we aren't fricking slobs and my kids handle their side of the house and we do ours.

On another note.. I do pay a professional cleaning service to clean my office.. Gotta draw the line somewhere..

Do you have kids?

I have a 4 and 2 year old. The 4 year old likes to ride with me while i cut the grass.

It's not that difficult to make your kids breakfast, then go grab the vacuum and vacuum the house in 5-10 minutes while they eat.

If you aren't lazy, you clean your dishes after you eat and put them in the dishwasher. when you get home from work and the dishes need to be unloaded, you unload them.

After you put your kids to bed and you and the wife sit down to watch something stupid on tv, fold the clothes while you watch, unless your too lazy to.

When the garbage needs to be taken out, take it out and walk your lazy arse to the garbage can outside. I pick up the bathroom garbages while my kids bathe.

Instead of taking 30 minutes to take a shite while you play on your iphone, blow the shite out your arse, wipe yourself and be done with it in less than 5 minutes. take 30 seconds to scrub the toilet with some comet. Before you sit down to shite, put some comet in the tub too, hell even the sinks. Take 30 seconds to scrub each down and rinse it. You just shite, cleaned the toilet, sinks and tub in less than 10 minutes, and didn't waste life sitting on a toilet playing on your phone.

Clean up after yourself lazy arse.

Paying for someone to clean your house or cut your grass, if you're not old or handicap, is lazy. Don't give me the excuse that you don't have time b/c you're busy all weekend. You're not busy, you're lazy. If you want to pay for it b/c you don't want to do it, that's fine. Your money, do what you want. But don't tell me you don't have time to do it. It's not that difficult to do when we are talking about a normal 2000 sq ft house that sits on a quarter acre of land.

From Family Guy when Meg and Chris were the parents, and how i feel as well:
Lois: Wait a minute. Meg, when did you find the time to do all this?
Meg: I had all day to do this.
Peter: Oh, my God, this is delicious.
Lois: What do you mean "all day"? What about all the housework?
Meg: I did it in, like, 30 minutes. I don't understand why you're such a freaking martyr all the time.
It's a house.
It's a finite area.
I'm not cleaning a town.

I usually try to cut the grass the day the garbage truck comes...

Side note... It only takes me about an hour to edge, cut and blow the grass...

I'd work an extra year to avoid cutting the fricking grass again.

So you know my wife and i's schedule confidently enough to make that statement, eh jackass?

I get up at 5 and leave the house around 530 every morning. Work until about 430/5. Get home around 6. Wife gets home around 630 with the kid. I then workout for 30 minutes while my wife feeds my son. I then bathe him while she works out. It is 730/8 by the time we START cooking dinner. By the time we are done eating and pick up the dishes it is 9/930. Spend about 30 minutes playing with my kid then put him to bed, then i watch about 30 minutes to an hour of tv and i'm off to bed. So tell me again how i'm lazy...

I pay to have my house cleaned. Why don't you worry about your worthless self instead of "chastizing" others over the internet over what they do and don't pay for.
