making record profits so last thing they want is for a unit to shut down. get your arse chewed if it does.
Sounds a whole lot like my previous employer. Left in October. Just constant weekly arse chewings over things like supply chain that are so far out of our control.
Company literally had record production numbers in 2021. Morale in there felt like we never produced a pound.

Some PTZ cameras should have been here in October, just shipped on 1/4. Pressure Transmitter has a project on hold. Will arrive sometime in March..
A lot of projects coming 2Q of 22. I am afraid this will affect those projects as well. They will not be funded in time to plan accordingly.

Everyday, all day. It's part of life for the foreseeable future. We are constantly searching for alternates for assembly.

I have 30 week lead times for new products. Refurbishment is about to be busy right now.

In Industrial Pipe fabrication. Quotes only good for 2 days on pipe/valves/fittings. Alloys 6-8 wks. Paint is 3-4 wks out. Hotshot service from Houston to SWLA is insane. And the customers don't care. Build it as fast as you can.

We have some professional level rednecks out here.
We get by.
We get by.

Furnace tubes are 15-18 months out no matter the location or what you’re willing to spend.

Actually, killing it.
I work in a small specialty chemical division of a top 3 oil giant and am in operations.
We’ve had some adversity with raw materials but we’ve found ways to get by with little to no adverse impact on production. Im not sure if we’re paying a premium or not on raw materials to make sure we’re getting a consistent supply but it wouldn’t surprise me.
According to last years metrics we’re killing it. And evidently we’re stealing customers from competitors that aren’t able to produce as consistently as we are.
It has been interesting to see how efficient we were despite having barebones engineering and management support, while also dealing with our own manpower issues due to covid/quarantine
I think we have damn good operators and I think that’s why we’ve done so well

Yep some of our stuff is 6 months lead time right now.

Laptop procurement is terrible right now, at least for Microsoft. Been waiting over 6 months for 500 surfaces.

Damn. I used to be in the procurement side of things and I was thinking the other day about how bad it must be as well for specialty valves and such.

Lead times getting longer and management wanting things done faster. It’s hell.

Firewalls at 90-180 days out is a nightmare for us right now.
42 container ships sitting off the coast of Cali right now. That is around 30,000 containers. Thank the great state of California for implementing unprecedented fees for cargo offloading during the pandemic. Shipping compa ies are just saying, "frick it, we'll sit here".
