Side note: I’ve had COVID (as has my family) and my biggest recommendation is to have a big bottle of Tylenol and a big bag of Halls cough drops.

One of the most interesting things about COVID is how different the symptoms can be for each person, even persons within the same household.

I’m pretty sure regular exercise is a recommendation to help prevent many diseases.
You and I specifically addressed COVID-19, not “many diseases”.

Let’s stay on target here.

You don’t have a basic understanding of how viruses behave or how they infect humans.

chRxis (who is a Pharmacist) posted here:
“this Is a good time to remind everyone that we don't have 1 single medication on earth that can kill a virus, and the only way to prevent certain viruses, to an extend (sic), is vaccination...”

The use of Vitamin & Mineral supplements will NOT prevent COVID-19 infection in a person any more (or less) than will exercise level, or IQ level, or toenail length, or many other factors.

correct... the is also a good time to remind y'all that NO vitamins and supplements, available OTC, have to pass FDA inspection, so they are not subject to the same standards that prescription medication is.... meaning, that their claims of safe and effective use doesn't actually have to have merit, and many times, they don't.... the "studies" they cite are typically done by the same company manufacturing the vitamin and/or supplement, so you can see why that'd be a problem, right?

But they will certainly harden your body defenses and lessen severity than without. And NOBODY gets a diet balanced enough to cover all the bases.

You have to keep your body tuned up and maximize your physical and mental abilities which makes you more resilient and durable. AKA less likely to allow infection in and more likely have minor impact if infected.

Your posts are usually more correct than this example.

pass FDA inspection,
Correct. Do your due diligence.

Just like any product, there are levels of quality and efficacy. And there are some excellent vitamin companies out there. And some not so good.

Thanks for the backhanded compliment.

For clarity: I am addressing INFECTION only

Exercise itself* or supplements DO NOT help or hurt an individual’s chances for catching da COVID.

*Not taking into account proximity issues to others while taking exercise.

I’ve been taking C, D3, and Zinc since April. I may have had it (very mild symptoms), but I’m not sure.

I've been taking Vit D for 8 years 1000 to 2000 units a day and haven't been sick since ( cold and flu) I have no idea if this is related.

There are 2 types of Vitamin D. Odds are you're taking the wrong one unless you really know what you're doing. If you know what you're doing, you aren't likely to say "I have no idea if this is related". 1 to 2k units a day prob doesn't do much either.

Yes to all 3..best vit d in real sunlight on bare skin.

Think about what nursing home residents who die at higher rates do not get. Vit C... Vit D (sunlight)... no exposure to pathogens in dirt /on surfaces to create a strong immune system.... You need all of these things plus Zinc and you will be fine if you get this glorified cold.

That, plus prednisone is the protocol being used in the nursing home my mother is in. They have over 100 positive tests and no fatalities. So, maybe something to it.

The only major controlled study that had shown mortality/morbidity benefit was low dose dexamethasone.

But it doesn’t strengthen your immune system’s response to the virus?
