Hey guys,

Trying to get my wife some relief. She’s been dealing with crazy migraines along with some numbness/loss of strength in her right arm for several months now.

We’ve seen our family doctor along with a neurologist and a pain specialist. She’s had an MRI that showed some bone spurs in her cervical spine along with some disk herniation. She’s had two rounds of epidural steroid injections and has also been taking tramadol for the headaches.

Nothing is giving her relief. We’ve continued consulting with our family doc, and she has an appt with another specialist, but they can’t see her until late March.

We’re willing to travel anywhere in the state if any of you can recommend a good doc or treatment in this space.

TIA

That sucks. She might need surgery. What's the size of the herniation?

Seems like she needs to see a spine surgeon.

I don’t think it’s very large. They didn’t catch it on the first read

Tramadol is useless and why would they prescribe that for headache?

The epidural steroids provided zero relief? That's odd. Zero?

I also have an injured neck that was causing me a lot of pain and numbness. They gave me gabapentin, and it's been a blessing. I hardly feel any pain. Have her try that.

I doubt this works for everyone, but I use to get debilitating migraines. Now when I can tell ones coming, I take a few hits of weed (the devils lettuce ik) and go about my day completely unbothered. Same goes for my MIL. Just something to consider

There’s your problem. Might want to meet with an orthopedic doctor as well.

Your spine probably needs decompression.

Neurogist hasn’t referred her to neurosurgeon?I had severe issues with my neck with bone spurs ,horrific pain in my neck with spasms of my trapezius muscle and weakness in my arm.I didn’t have migraines.I took Feldene for 7 years with good relief and then Aleve for several years. Not everyone can take Feldene because it can cause severe gastric distress including bleeding.
I now have no problem with my neck even though neurosurgeon initially told me surgery was in my future.
Also try removing all dairy from her diet. Some Dr.s believe galactose(milk sugar) has inflammatory effects. My brother in law had mild neck pain,he quit dairy and his pain went away.Good luck.

Try physical therapy first, you can go directly to a physical therapist without waiting until March
