UPDATE: UPDATE: Just looked in the back seat window and someone came by here last night apparently because the black vest with the name has been flipped upside down and I don't see the radio or badge. About to call the BRPD right now.

May be absolutely nothing.

Abandoned car in our work parking lot this morning. (still here)
white lexus, mississippi tags (pike county)
doors locked
back seat contains police vest with police radio and badge attached.
Officers name is on vest "Wells" and badge reads McComb police dept

Contacted McComb police dept and they confirmed they have a Wells employee.

Muddy prints on front left quarter panel. Knocked on trunk and no answer. lol

Is this another out of towner having a binge weekend or simply a broken down car? Wet paper towels stuffed in front windshield on drivers side with cardboard paper towel holder. Someone trying to wipe away evidence?
Curious why officer would leave badge in car.

This taking place in the not so good area of Baton Rouge. Sherwood and Choctaw.
Should I contact BRPD?

Sonya Wells - clerk of court with McComb
Demetrius Wells - crew member (whatever this means) with McComb police dept

Sorry to break the news. BRPD did show up and the officer said they did make contact with the owner of the car. The owner supposedly has arranged to have their car towed today as they did have car trouble. They came by last night to retrieve their badge and radio out of the backseat which explains the missing items this morning.

Could have turned into an interesting event but as of now appears to be a broken down personal vehicle by a member of the McComb police dept being in Baton Rouge.

Contact them again and ask if they could reach out to him for answers?

I talked to their dispatch and she took my number and name of business. I haven't heard back from her although it has been about 5 hours now.

Usually I would think something like this would be pretty important for a police department to look into and follow up on. This is McComb though, so no telling if you will ever hear anything back

You have a business in the bad part of town and you don't have any cameras?

1. Wells could be getting some side piece
2. Wells could be investigating/ following a subject (thanks for blowing his cover)
3. Wells could be on the run

I would have done the same thing, but had the low man on the job do it.

He didn't say it was a cruiser. Sounds like a personal vehicle.
