Larger than New York City and Los Angeles COMBINED.
1,000 oil wells, 6800 heads of cattle, once used by Teddy Roosevelt for hunting wolves, the largest ranch in America with a single contiguous fence.
Waggoner Ranch For Sale

So...who's using their lunch money today to make an offer?

In all seriousness, I have access to about 70,000 acres behind the house, and I'm having trouble comprehending how large that really is.

That's a lot of lawn to get off of.

Even if I could afford it, the lawn upkeep would be too much of a hassle.

It's a little over seven times as large. If you really have 70,000 acres.

If you could afford it, I think lawn care wouldn't be something you would do yourself.

I worked on the King Ranch for 6 months 2 years ago and its 825,000 acres, just not continuous.

It has its own school for its employee, its own cops...its fricking crazy.

We would be on site and we had to be off the ranch by 6 pm and sometimes we would have to leave at 4 because it would take us 2 hours to get to the nearest gate.

Just crazy how big these ranches are.

I don't have it, I just butt against that much state land.

You don't realize how much land even 70k acres is until you break down or get stuck on the far side.

That's larger than iberville parish. By a good bit.

For those who dont realize how big that is, it takes longer to drive from st. Gabriel to maringoin (the ends of the parish) than it does to cross the entire state of rhode island.
