More than 200 cities around the world are partially encircled by an eruv. Manhattan's certainly isn't the largest, but according to Mintz, it's the most expensive eruv in the world. It costs between $125,000 and $150,000 a year to maintain. Mintz helps raise the funds every year from synagogues and private donations.
Every Thursday before dawn, a rabbi drives the perimeter, checking to see if wind or a fallen branch has broken the line. There are usually a few breaks, so a construction company is called and the rabbi gets in a cherry picker with fishing line in hand to repair the eruv. That's the part that costs so much.

Jews are the prequel to Christians' sequel.

Summary video. On January 8, 2024, an attempt was made by to fill in (concrete) a tunnel in New York that was under a synagogue. The synagogue members protested and some went into the tunnels to protest. A baby chair and stained mattress were found inside the tunnel, among other things.

“ If this is your first time in the Jew tunnel, you have to dig. “

I had a great uncle who started hearing Jews speaking Yiddish all the time around his property. Coincidentally, his response was to also dig a tunnel system on his place. The neighborhood kids called him Mole Man.

Did they hand dig this thing?

Supposedly the tunnels were made so they could worship during covid pandemic. NYC was on lock down and these guys had to get their prayer on or they'd go to hell
