The deputy can easily argue that he was concerned something happened to the officer who should have been driving the vehicle or the vehicle was stolen. A police officer shouldn’t be driving like that with no emergency lights so is it far fetched to think a bad guy somehow got control of the vehicle but didn’t know how to activate the lights/sirens? When the cop tried to evade the officer and wouldn’t stop, the deputy would be even more concerned.

Fair points. I just imagined that the officers had various channels with neighboring departments that they could radio if they see something is amiss. The officer did the right thing to chase after the city pd. Definitely not arguing against that.

Props to the deputy for pulling him over, that means there’s a chance he could be in the very very small minority of LEOs who aren’t complete pieces of shite

Either you are a frequent flyer with the police or you have no respect for what they do and deal with, most of which you probably couldn't do. Either way, frick off.

It actually wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. He's young and hot headed - hope he gets a second chance and can learn from it if he has the right attitude moving forward.

Exactly. When I watched the video I felt like he was a Melvin and the young initial speeding cap was immature and hot headed.

This has happened a few times before. There's one video from last year of some Cops pulling over another Cop in his patrol vehicle. Pulled him over after citizens complained about him swerving. Come to find out he was drunk as shite (blew a 0.4). He was cooperative and not combative, but he did lie and say it was benadryl and not alcohol.

Did you expect him to go slower than 80 to try to catch the guy?

No I'm just saying the whole thing was stupid. He couldn't radio the guy? Call it in to HQ? First guy was a jackass for sure

You might want to take a physics class before applying for that job at NASA.

Well, they do it all the time at 6am on the way to work on Interstate. Unmarked Tahoes flying with no lights and probably late for work. All the other cars slow down and cause problems on interstate just so they can fly by going to work. Nice.

I passed one on 90 in Ocean Springs texting while driving. I now understand why everyone texts and drives around here.
