Not him, but his classmate or at least I think they were. We were close to that family. My dad was on the board there.

I was at Belmont/AP. I go back a few times a year. Dad passed last year. My mom and a couple of my siblings still live there. It is quite sad to see what it has become.

Great grandparents loved there. Essentially my family started there on my dad's side. Grandma's family came from France and nova scotia and settled in town near the Catholic Church. Grandpa's family settled to the north in louisburg and some around church point.

Still got tons of extended family in the area. Place is depressing as frick though, hate going over there.

I remember the Pizza Shack. I also remember the sit down pizza hut which we almost went to every Sunday after church. The movie theater was right across the street.

They used to all be sit down. I remember the little sit down video games and I do believe there was a jukebox. Am I remembering correctly? The smell of pizza was amazing when you walked in there.

I remember mom bringing home Ray's Boudin or Popeyes chicken when she went shopping in Opelousas. It's all about food now

Didn’t know that, that was one of my wife’s favorite places but we haven’t been there in several years.

I remember some beautiful ladies when we played them in sports. I played basketball for Port Barre and remember a beautiful little point guard on the girls team in early 90's. I believe her last name was prejean. Not sure if that was her last name but she was pretty good too.

Cat Doucette, Sheriff of St. Landry Parish

His name came up today.

I've been dealing with an elderly gentleman recently who is from St. Landry Parish, and who is more than happy to spill the gossip on all the players there in the last 75 yrs. I introduce a topic, and sit back and listen.

Today, I asked about the whorehouses from back in the day (already knowing a bit about this from books).

He says: "Cat didn't own one whorehouse."

Me: "Oh?" (scratching my head, having heard differently)

Him: "Yeah...he owned All of 'em."

After reading your posts about O, we definitely know each other brother. This is B as I’m married to LLL. We saw you last Easter for the crawfish boil at your parents house.

Haha, hey man! Hope all is well on your end. We are waiting this thing out in CT. We were driving each other crazy in NYC.

You are correct. I believe it was Ms Pac Man. My oldest brother got arrested there in high school (70s) for doing a drive by mooning of the people in the restaurant.
