The only connection I have to Opelousas is going out there. Saw Percy Sledge at the old Delta theater, went to that bar that used to be an auction barn a few times, went with a friend pick up some coke at the whorehouse bar. Most of the time when we went that direction we would go at that little bar in Lawtell. I would also get a pork chop sandwich at that store at the "Y" every time I was in the area, thing was so good.

Family on my dad's side in Opelousas. As kids it was a cool town. (60's & 70's) We used to go to the park all day then to the movie at night. Great times. Went to an aunt's funeral few years ago. Place is a dump. My lord what happened? So depressing.
