Me either. It’s vacation.
When I go somewhere (with 4 people) at a minimum I’m allocating $500 a day for just food and lodging and that’s with kids. Adults would be more.

My wife is the same way but I do enjoy Disney World a lot. This is where I draw the line though. If we are going to Tokyo or Paris, we are gonna experience that country, not go to a Disney park.

My wife is trying to convince me we need to go on a Disney cruise.

You’re not entitled to go to Disney World. Pathetic.

Went on one last summer. We had a great time but it was the same price as the parks and I'd pick the parks every single time.

the very first people he talks to are Disney Adults who have a combined $170k in debt between them without a care in the world….next guy says his debt is “minimal” at $60k
I mean, that's a pretty disingenuous summary of the video. The first couple says that they only have about $1K in consumer debt. The second couple says they have $60K in debt, but $53K of that is a car loan. That's on the lower end of "bad debt" for most people. If people didn't take vacations while in any type of debt 99.9999% of people would never vacation.

Yeah. We travel specifically TO eat and drink
You should see my calendar right now with all the saved dates/times for when it opens up for me to make reservations for our upcoming Napa trip.
To each their own.

I spent $5k on 4 nights in Vegas, not including gambling money. People talking 2 weeks in Europe for $7K, I’d probably spend 14,000.

Why would anyone want to go to Disney is beyond me. Don’t sweat it.

I don't get why its so hard to understand. Its a nostalgic Eutopia. You go and get emersed into the pakrs. Magic Kingdom brings you back to main street USA, Hollywood studios brings you to the golden age of Hollywood, EPCOT is an adult paradise, and Animal Kingdon is a tour through the jungles. When you're there you are reminded of your childhood, back when you didn't have a worry in the world. All your real world problems are left behind and for 5 days or so you get to be free and feel youthful. And all that is BEFORE you factor in the joy your kids get to experience. My daughter meeting her favorite princesses, my son riding every rollercoaster he can. Its a place of happiness.
People who go to Disney and hate it do so for 3 reasons:
1) they decided it sucked before they got there and they are only going to appease their kids/spouse.
2) They can't stop thinking of the money they spent to get there.
3) (This is most cases) They didn't do the research on how to maximize theor time and minimze their frustartions. If you don't know how to work the parks then yes, you will be in line all day and hate every minute of it.

My parents took me when they still had ticket books. Went every summer from 6-10. But we loved driving distance.

my kids were raised in FL and we had season passes for years, if I am never near another Disney property again it will be too soon

Call me crazy but $7000 for a trip for a family of four to Disney, what is going to be one of the most significant childhood trips, is just not that much money.
You're getting downvoted, and people here like to bag on Disney, but I have fond memories of taking my kid there when she was little.
We last went two years ago, when she was a teenager, and still had a blast, because she was old enough to ride the big rides and experience it in a different way.
