ETA: Disney is the only subject on this board that can go from OP to 19 pages long within 24 hours.
Because the OT is full of hypocrites "Only Simps give their money to Disney" all the while they watch DirectTV, FOX, Sling, SECNetwork, ESPN, HULU, YouTubeTV, ABC, etc

In addition to renting DVC points you could could also look into the Swan and Dolphin. It's a Marriott hotel on Disney property in the Boardwalk area between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. While not owned by Disney you get most of the perks the deluxe resorts get (I don't think you can use the dining plan but that's not really a good purchase anyway) and most of the time it's a good bit cheaper than Disney hotels.
We stayed at the Swan Reserve and it was very nice. Basically just felt like any other upscale Marriott property.

My only complaint from our Swann stay was that the busses were infrequent and unreliable. We ended up taking Ubers to the parks every day.

This is another piece of it for me. Every time we go I find some way that I would improve the next trip. Disney is a logistical problem given its size and complexity. I feel like we do it better and better each time we go.
BUT I do get that it costs alot and its just not up some people's ally.

a meal plan
This a big way to save money. If you don't care about the price and you simply want convenience and to not worry about it because its already paid for, the meal plan is great. If you want to cut some dollars off your bill, pay for the food when you get there. Its cheaper that way.

Your house must be miserable if "the leader" of the house believes the rest of them are to taylor all of their wants and needs to fully align with his at all times. Also that street goes both ways buddy. Why don't you grow up and put your famiy's wants above your own?

You’re a fricking idiot if you think my 4 year old would enjoy Paris more than Disney, there’s no other way to put that.
Hoping to take them to Glacier National Park in a couple years. Their legs should be strong enough to hike those trails at that age.

Why lie? There's literally no chance this is true, especially if they still talk about the other trip. That math ain't mathin
Its possible they don't talk about it because every time they mention it Dad has to talk about how he spent $9k to be miserable.

I may have to go back and look into it again.
Look at Old Key West. Its the cheapest DVC property and for a week in October (Ithink thats when you said you were going) a 2 bedroom villa is about $6,500.

Right? My wife and I have been to Paris without kids, it’s not like we’re missing out because we brought our daughter to Disney. She’s not missing out either, we’ll bring her when she’s old enough to enjoy and appreciate it. 4 years old doesn’t seem to be that age

All I said was the men that do give in, I understand why they would be miserable pricks and part of the blame is on the spouse for not letting it go

This is the part where you’re being unreasonable. Why ruin everyone’s time because it’s not your ideal trip?
There is a 3rd option. My FIL hates rides and crowds so he just paid for my MIL and her kids to go without him. Everyone sort of wins in this scenario. I’d argue both my FIL and MIL lost in this scenario but everyone did get what they wanted. I’d argue my MIL lost because now she had to be solely responsible for both kids the entire time. Luckily they have a bunch of cousins that would go so she could split up if the kids wanted to do different things. I’d also argue my FIL lost out on a ton of good memories. We will sit around and trade stories about Disney and he doesn’t have any to share.
One of my best memories with my son is being in MK after hours and riding Tron over and over. I could see he was exhausted and after every ride I’d ask if he was ready to head out and every time he’d ask to go one more time. We went until they wouldn’t let us in line anymore. I gave him a piggy back ride back to the room and he fell asleep on my shoulders. There has never been a happier kid than my son on that night. Went to bed feeling like the greatest dad that ever lived.

This is was my favorite theme park ride of all time and it's completely retarded that it went the way that it did

What part did the ride previously have that it currently doesn't that makes it so different for you?
I am genuinely curious, not hating. To me its the same ride with new characters. Doesn't really affect me all that much.

My biggest gripe about Tiana is that stupid fricking Gumbo recipe they have in the queue line. It calls for shrimp, beef wieners and you boil the shrimp for 15 minutes.

Thats such a hilarious Louisiana specific gripe. I agree with this though and now that you pointed it out, it will bother me from now on.
