I mean, I get walking back your macho bullshite when enough people called you out, but this is a classic message board bitch move

Let's not forget your own words:

quote:

I’ve already told my wife that Disney World will never happen for our family. Can we afford it? Sure.

But I’m not going to spend $5k or more for LESS THAN A WEEK just for a damn amusement park. I don’t care how “magical” or great the service is. shite isn’t worth that much.

My kids can do when they’re older and want to spend their money. I don’t have many lines in the sand when it comes to my family but this is one of them.

Bert isn't exaggerating it really is magical. We started working in a resort day into our vacations before covid. We were at the Polynesian last year and I heard my middle child from the top of the volcano slide yell "THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER"

So yeah we booked again for this year

Last year we got my daughter the full princess makeover at bippity boppity boutique. When they turned her around at the end so she could see the finished product in the mirror, few things have made her smile that way. I couldn't imagine not giving my kids these experiences.

I can appreciate that your boys enjoyed the trips yall took but unless they just hate rollercoasters, saying they wouldn't have enjoyed Disney World just as much if not more is you lying to yourself.
this post is absolutely outrageous

Fatties galore, $25 funnel cakes, long arse lines, central florida heat, etc. Absolutely impossible for someone to not think this is peak vacationing?

Call me crazy but $7000 for a trip for a family of four to Disney, what is going to be one of the most significant childhood trips, is just not that much money.

Judging by the down votes on this post, there’s a lot of poor people on this board.

That's not what he said. It's completely reasonable for someone (i.e., adults) to not care for a trip to Disney World for some of the reasons you mentioned. It is pretty unfathomable that a kid of appropriate age would not enjoy Disney World.

It's really unfathomable that some kids wouldn't enjoy waiting in hours long lines hot as hell?

Yes, because that's all that Disney is.

What is it about Oxford that makes you dorks so anti Disney?

I think part of the problem is that to bypass the lines, you really do have to have saved a bunch of money and most people either can’t or won’t, so they end up standing in line for 60 minutes next to the other toothless masses wondering what the hell the guy with the hot wife and two kids who are not miserably melting in the sun and whining the entire time about it does for a living.

It is very expensive, but there are multiple ways to make it for 2-3 grand and less. Eating and sleeping off site is a couple. That alone will save you thousands.

For a special trip, I just don't see an extra $25-$35 per person for lightning lane as some huge expense.

The other guy pretty much summed up my point. I could refute your gripes but they are legitimate gripes if you go during peak times in the summer.

My main point is that people who say "My kid doesn't want to go to Disney World" are lying to themselves. Your kid either doesn't know it exists or wants to go. I also don't think you can take a kid to Disney World and they would have anything less than a great time. Unless the adults bitched the whole time and refused to buy Lightning Lanes. That could definitely ruin a trip for people of all ages

That’s because, like me, you don’t think 7 grand is a big expense.

I also don’t know how it works anymore as they have tiered passes and I think designated times. But the more expensive Lightning Lane passes are like $150 extra per person.

That’s the biggest reason I had no desire to go: you have to plan this shite to a T. We just hired a pro planner, which of course cost more money but was worth my wife’s sanity.

But for some, an extra $100 a day is a lot of money and certainly $600 a day is.

I always tell people the biggest issue with Disney World isn't the price. Its that you need a PHD in Disney to plan an efficient trip. I love figuring it all out. Its like a game to me. How can I find ways to minimize my price while maximizing my experience. But I do see why it turns some people off.

There are Disney planners out there that don't cost you anything.

Nearly every line at disney is either indoors or in the shade, and if you're waiting in hours long lines then you planned poorly. We've taken our kids in the middle of the summer (I would not recommend this) and they didn't have an issue with the heat. Of course, if the parents are acting miserable, complaining, and being short tempered with the kids, it will probably ruin the experience for everyone.

Get lightning lane passes, don’t go in the Summer. Do you need me to solve anymore of life’s problems for you?
