Why hasn’t we seen these in use? Not economically feasible? Easier to accomplish with a bomb?
I would go with economic feasibility being an issue. Probably would never be more efficient than just spraying hot lead.

No, but it might destabilize a hardened target.

If I set volume comfortable using headphones I was good from 24-3700 Hz, then nothing until 4100 then I was good until about 5200, then nothing and picked it up again at 6800 - 7700 and nothing after that.
However, if I raised volume a little, I could hear everything out to as far as 10,261, with not being able to hear certain frequencies between 9400 and 10,261.
I see how using this you can tailor sound amplification at specific frequencies to better hear. Nice that you can now get hearing aids off the shelf and use apps to tailor it to suit your individual hearing.

So…just hypothetically…big enough system, right resonance….what could you do? I mean, if you had a machine that could reach the resonance of stone?
The resonant frequency lowers with an increase in mass. The amplitude doesn't have to be high because it keeps building upon itself. If you live in a pair and beam with little cross bracing and on fairly tall pilings (especially wood) the resonant frequency is rather high. A cat walking at the resonant frequency and continuing too can start the house to shake perceptively. However, if the cat speeds up or slows down it quickly stops. You also have the issue that it can't be cancelled out which the larger the structure the more likely that is to happen.
The Tocoma Narrows bridge collapse is one of the most famous examples of resonance causing a diasater. Note that it is far more than just the material that determines the resonant frequency of a structure. When I noted the resonant frequency of sheetrock walls I gave a range because it changes with the height of the wall, size and spacing of studs, thickness of the drywall etc. It just so happens that most drywall walls are resonant in that range, the most common resonant frequency is 60-70hz.
That was a bit of stream of consciousness and it might not be clear. You can destroy most anything with the correct resonant frequency but once you get really large there are so many things that will cancel out the movement before it becomes dangerous.

quote:That's nothing. I have a Meridian sub that will go down to 17 Hz.. You actually feel the throbbing in the air as the sound pressure waves hit you. It's amazing. I can't do it often because my neighbors complain, but I play the opening of Blade Runner, The Final Cut on a 4K Blu-ray and the opening boom on this sub is like sonic explosion.
I put it on the surround sound on 44hz and the house started vibrating

Wait...scratch that. The oscillation effect is best when they are only slightly out of sync.
Try 994 and and 1012 Hz.
Using this effect is how you "tune" the revs of multiple boat engines. When they are close you get a whoom whoom sound as you get them closer to the same revs the oscillation will reduce in frequency until you can't hear it anymore which is when the proper are running the same speed.

Mid volume I hear 89-14,067. Years of being around loud arse airplanes takes it's toll.
I wear noise cancelling headsets when flying the 130, but I doubt it actually protects my hearing. I sometimes wear ear plugs inside my headset, when I'm not being lazy.
Vision is still 20/10 though

That's broken, sound cuts out at 1400hz and higher.

I didn’t hear anything. Neither did the wife.

Try a system with 4 21" subs tuned to 16hz and 16 18" subs in LLT alignments tuned to 8hz. 130 dB from 8Hz to 16Hz and 140+ dB from 16Hz to 70Hz.
The 21s from when I was building and comparing ferrite to neo magnet versions:

A CD on the dust cap for reference:

I could hear everything and twice as loud as you.

Have no interest in measuring how bad my hearing is now. Asking people to repeat themselves is enough for me.

Unfortunately, Tubby the dog died, you can see him in the videos, he was the only fatality.

Not even going to bother. I can't hear a high pitch watch alarm go off on my wrist. My ears ring so bad my brain just tunes that shite out.
