You’re being a douchebag, not honest.

Dude said he’s not as overweight as he used to be. You chime in to say he’s still 20lbs overweight as if that contradicts his statement. It doesn’t. 20 lbs overweight is not as overweight as 50 lbs was.

You’re a douchebag.

The 20-25lbs overweight is "normal" is IMO is the worst of all the fat is OK trends because it affects far more of the population. Especially on a 6' plus man 20 pounds is easy to "hide" and they never feel fat or consider themselves fat.

What’s the genuine problem with this?

Nothing wrong with pasta, bread, donuts, pizza, burgers, tacos, etc as long as it’s in moderation and not a common part of your diet

Avoid many of those and adapt some of them and you can be happy thin-toned and feel great.

The problem is that those people are still fat.

You're just being overly sensitive. It's probably because you're fat.

I’m asking why it bothers so many.

This has been the worse part of this experience. I do not care for grilled or baked fish. I've pretty much cut fish out of my diet with this no fried food rule.

Man you are missing out. Caught some snapper and I just use butter and lemon. Can’t go wrong.

Strain on our health care system and insurance. Sucks to sit next to in a plane or in a car or at a ball game.

I mean they were trying to ban me from society because a virus was killing fat unhealthy people. That’s not my problem. I didn’t do that to them.

Y’all have had two years to lose weight.

I guess I need to get to 170 for Mingo.

I've read through this entire thread, and often laughed to myself about some of the things I've read here. I'm glad this was put on the OT instead of the Heath/Fitness board, because there were way more responses here than there would have been on there. And also so much more wrong information here than there would have been there.

Currently, I stand at 5'7" and weighed 186.6lbs this morning. I'm actually about 4lbs heavier and probably 2% fatter than when I was my fittest. Last year on June 16th, I weighed 197.7lbs, with a body fat percentage of 14.8, and a BMI of 31.0, with 97.4lbs of skeletal muscle mass. This, however, was not my fittest. on September 11th of last year, I was at my leanest, and what I'd consider my fittest, I was 182.2lbs, 13.2 BFP, a BMI of 28.5, with 92.2lbs SMM.

I get that if you weigh 190 at 6'1" with a BFP of 28, yes you are fat and probably unhealthy, but the numbers yall are focused on are the wrong numbers. Ignore BMI, ignore heaght and weight (to a certain extent). Yall should be focused on these numbers instead:

Body Fat Percentage
Blood Pressure
Resting Heart Rate

Those numbers are much more important to health than the distorted BMI bullshite. According the the BMI scale, I was "obese" at 197.7lbs, yet I was only 14.8% BF, and at 182.2lbs I was "overweight" yet I was only 13.2% BF.

According the the BMI scale, I'd have to weigh 159lbs to be considered "normal weight". In 2018, I got down to 155lbs on the Keto diet, and I looked sickly. While I'm not in the best shape of my life currently, I'm not far from it. No one in their right mind who saw me with my shirt off today would call me fat.

That's just my $0.02, but hey, I'm often called an idiot.

You are fat at 5’7. soccer players and boxers your height aren’t fat and weigh around the 155-160 mark and aren’t sickly. You have been conditioned.

At sub 15% BF? With 90-100lbs of SMM? You're a moron.

Darren Sproles was 5'6" 190lbs. Guess he was fat too?

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is 5'7" 210lbs. Guess he is fat too?

Boston Scott is 5'6" 203lbs. Guess he is fat too?

Maurice Jones-Drew was 5'7" 207lbs. Guess he was fat too?

I love these comparisons. So many OTers have the bodies of professional athletes. It's incredible.

Because I'm not athletic enough obviously, and past the prime age of an NFL running back.

I didn't compare my fitness level to them, only my height and weight, which are the only stats the other poster was using to call me fat at my height. Therefore proving that there are more important stats that just height and weight...
