Today LA had the largest positive test count of the month.
Today's confirmed cases result from tests given 2, 3 or 4 days ago.

Some tests are taking longer than 4 days but most of the tests results are being given within that number of days. My friend got his test results back in 2 days earlier this week in Baton Rouge.

I didn’t say it was taking longer to get results back. I’m saying it takes longer to report the results.

This is why I go to St. George or Ascension for my dining and grocery shopping. Havent worn one yet. Dumb mandate is dumb.

If masks work, why social distance? If social distance works, then why masks?

It's my understanding that the labs performing the COVID tests report positive and negative results daily to DHH.

Why would it take DHH longer than, say, one additional day, to report those results in their daily reports?

If you have a link explaining the reporting time lags I'd appreciate reading about it. Thanks.

It’s because masks spread the virus more.

Masks are indeed a hazard.

If a so called asymptomatic person is wearing his mask to protect others, he or she is literally creating a covid bomb on their face.

Someone should chronicle a day in the life of this covid bomb.

Where it goes, what it touches, how often the wearer touches it, how often the wearer changes it, how often the wearer sanitizes it, how is it sanitized and on and on.

In a lab you may prove that a mask can reduce the spray of droplets.

The real world is not a lab and in a dumb population where people have little clue about how to wear a properly fitted mask, how to handle a mask, how to sanitize a mask and how to store a mask.....they are a hazard and a risk to spread Corona and a whole host of other nasties.

If I go out and wear one or more of my cloth masks I wash them that night in my washing machine. The same goes for my wife.

Is that good enough for me to not be wearing a "COVID bomb" the next time I wear it?

I never thought to do that.

Is it hard to get her into the machine?

We wouldn’t have data on this in a week. Give it a few more weeks and then see.

If so, how can we ever go without a mask ever again in our life? If not, what's the next step? Full hazmat suits?

the development and utilization of a vaccine will eventually turn the tide against COVID, and will make the daily use of mask unnecessary (seasonal use, among high risk populations should be continued, however)… but in the mean time, do your part to minimize the spread as much as possible, so wear your mask around others, practice social distancing, wash/sanitize your hands, and keep gatherings and public outings to a minimum...

it sucks, it's not fun, and I HATE it just as much as anyone else, but if you want to return to "normal" these are the things we MUST do for that to happen...

I can't speak for EBR, but in Jefferson every establishment I walk into there is not one employee wearing the mask correctly. It is either worn below the nose or hanging below the chin. This includes hospitals.

Forcing people to wear a mask for 8+ hours a day isn't sustainable.
