I want to disagree for the attractive idea of immediate justice, but time has shown the rush to judgement can lead to charges being dismissed and thus justice never being served.
Arrest them, charge them, have a big trial and then, if found guilty, turn them loose in general population with word being they were Dahmers, then let nature take its course.

I think there's a reasonable distinction between the two. IMO police actions in this regard should be more specifically and more heavily scrutinized due to the extraordinary authority and power we as a society cede to police. With great power comes great responsibility.

My counter to that absolute "comply and it'll all be ok" is Breonna Taylor was doing just that in her home when that no-knock warrant was served.

The way I look at it is we have clear laws and punishment (if convicted) set forth to deal with those issues. Due process should be allowed to play out in order to ensure that we all get due process in a situation where we've broken the law(s).
The police are there to facilitate. Not to be judge and juror. That's the line that has been repeatedly crossed and it's finally come to a head.
