Just turned 47 and been sober and eating healthy since Christmas. Hitting similar numbers now that I did in college:
Squats - 3 sets of 10 with 315
Bench - 3 sets of 10 with 225
Ran 7 miles before work this morning.
Living my best life. Get on board!

You’ve still got time my man.
The trick is to find a hobby that you enjoy that simultaneously burns calories. I need cardio to not balloon up with my shitty metabolism. Problem is, I hate running.
Bought a bike on a whim a few summers ago and I love getting on that thing. I’ll burn so many calories in a ride that I come home hungry.
Pick up tennis, basketball, pickleball. Anything that gets you moving for a few hours a day. It’ll change your life.

Years ago I read that when a man turns 30 it is very stressful. He realize that contrary to what his mother said to him, he will never become President of the United States.

30 should be easy with a little effort. I noticed it got much harder to stay in shape around 45.

You’re a fat, lazy slob blaming your age for your own life choices

I'm 37 and I've never felt better. I'm in my prime.

Wait until you are staring at 40 my baw.
I've heard it before that your body completely replaces its cells every 7 years or so. So every seven years, you are literally a completely new person.
The things you knew at points in your life are completely different when you you look back.
Enjoy the ride because we don't get another ticket

Can't believe a 30 year old comes on here and complains about being out of shape at your age.
You do know 30 is young and you have plenty of time to fix the issue.
What I would give to be 30.

30 is still peak age for a man. The decline begins slowly around 35.

I ran my first full marathon in my 40s. Skied 27 days in a 40 day period in mid-40s and was better than ever. At almost 50 I’m in better overall shape than at most points in my life.
Maintain lean muscle mass and get your VO2 max in gear. Sleep. Relax.

At 30, I was still close to what I was at 20 physically. Hell, I think I still run unattached in a collegiate cross country race at that age. Might have been my last one, though.
Come 40, though, now THAT was a different story, and quite humbling and depressing at times. But you move on. Despite my aging, I can still run around throwing and catching football with my godson and his brother. Just might be a tad sore in the shoulder and hammies the next day.

35 here.
Best shape of my life. Bench squat and dead are at personal records. Abs popping like never before.
Trying to run 10 miles a week and yoga once a week.
People love excuses.

30 wasn't terrible, but that's around the age where you start to notice you don't heal or bounce back as fast.

I'm 38 and stay busy after work with hobbies. Golf, welding, woodworking etc. . . The thing that seems to hold me back the most these days is my back. I'm trying to work on core strength but even that causes my back to be very uncomfortable. Otherwise, I feel great.
I make it a point every day to do something productive around the house. Sometimes it's just sweeping the floor, sometimes it's more involved work like welding. Force yourself to spend time every day not sitting around being lazy and you'll sleep better at night and won't spend that time sitting around eating shite food.

I’ll admit I could do better taking care of my body, but I’m not obese or anything just eat too much sugar and unhealthy foods. Anyways, I’m just not the same athletically that I used to be. Just turned 30 and wishing I would have stayed in the gym and eaten better the past few years.
I had 12 surgeries on hips/knees/feet by 41 years old. (Born w club feet).
And I get pretty jealous of my neighbors over 50 that are still jogging.
But jogging is NOT going to be in my future. I accept it.
I want to focus my energy on being a better father and that 30 min I could be jogging needs to be focused on a multitude of options:
Bike
Elliptical
Bible
Sauna
Work
Get better at something else and give yourself grace.

At 30, you could pretty easily whip yourself back into great shape.
