One of my friends got the schedule for her kid's "virtual learning"

This is for a first grader.
The kids spend 10 minutes on video with the teacher to start the day.
Then they do "parent directed" reading, music, math, and art. This means the parents teach them to read, learn songs, do math, and do art projects.
Then they upload a picture of a worksheet (parents pick these up at school).
That's it. We're paying our city teachers to print off worksheets, have a 10 minute roll call, and look at pictures on kid-facebook.
At the end of the call, the teacher said "There's nothing more I want than for kids to be here at school, but I guess we're all educators now."

So, not much different than all the "work from home" employees across the nation.

If anyone can do it from home I guess we can cut salaries

Agreed we should cut salaries of everyone working from home and raise those salaries of the essential worker

A lot of Teachers attitudes about all this is downright disgusting. No respect for them. They want all year off now with pay instead of the summers.

Cut salaries, cut benefits, hell cut the jobs entirely. I can print off some worksheets for $35k and summers off. I'll do it for the whole fricking county.

The poverty level moms are going to hate having to deal with their bastards.

Someone’s salty.

That’s ridiculous. I will be live teaching in person and virtually simultaneously all day.

Except medical professionals. Tired of them making HCQ political. If a patient wants to try it, give it to him. Medical malpractice resulting in 250k deaths and they want more money for tiktok vids. Pass.

Response would be that I expected a refund

That’s probably close to same amount of school work they do AT school in 1st grade.
Bathroom breaks take 20 minutes.
Lining up for lunch takes 20 minutes.
Actually eating lunch, 30 min
Recess 30 min
PE 50 minutes

You must’ve missed the part of the story where the teacher, presumably essential to you, is doing 10 minutes of work a day and the parents are doing her job for her.

Jesus. Thank you Fauci. We’ve abandoned a generation of kids over this bs.

Inappropriate teacher/student relationships in Arkansas are going to record levels in 2020.
