One of my buddies got killed that way back in college. On Nicholson at 2:30 am, drunk driver and pedestrian (him). Shity situation man. Prayers sent

My friend was hit by a car in uptown NOLA on Saturday night. He was drunk and on a bike and the car took off. He's okay though. He said he definitely left a dent in the hood of the car.

He's no longer in the ER but I don't think he will leave the hospital for another week at the least

There really needs to be a stronger police presence in that area to monitor whether or not drunk college kids are safely crossing the street. I almost hit two chicks a couple of weeks ago who just ran across the street without looking. There is nothing wrong with going out and having fun, but be smart about it.

How is there not a crosswalk at Nicholson and Lee? There's a walking path that continues from Nicholson to Brightside but no crosswalk.
Not that a crosswalk would prevent accidents but at least you could prove that you were not at fault.
