Even after so much fear, death, and misery, U.S. soldiers gathered in the ruins of the Cologne Cathedral to pray and hear Mass (March 1945).

The colorized versions of these seem so much more powerful for some reason. More real.

My childhood parish priest had been a chaplain on the front in Europe. The most blunt priest I ever met. The previous pastor had spent money like crazy while sucking up to those with more substance in that small town. Fr Gilbert read the monthly accounting once a month as part of the sermon with the tone of "You asked for all this, now fricking pay for it."

Hence Jamey Johnson’s song “in color.”

No. He's probably consecrating the Eucharist, hence why the soldiers are kneeling.

If people read the bible they wouldn't remain a Catholic for long. The Catholic church has so many teachings that contradict the biblical teaching such as the papacy, sacraments(infant baptism), Maryolatry, confessing sins to a man, penance, and purgatory which is a money-making racket to get relatives of people who pass away to have to pay for the priest, etc. to pray them out of purgatory to "hopefully" one day reach heaven. They teach a works salvation as opposed to placing one's faith and trust in Christ ALONE, and his finished work on the cross, and subsequent resurrection. God will destroy this corrupt system that's referenced in Revelations 17 and 18.
