I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. I'm in the camp of the wedding night, though I honestly came to that after marriage number 2 (still married - 25 years).
The women may be desire the man and be willing if pressed (even slightly) but may also want to wait until marriage. In this day and age, in particular, both parties usually have to really commit to the idea for it to work.

Depends on the person. Lots of variables.
Gender and experience being the most applicable.
Guys are always ready to go. I am not always ready to be potentially pregnant. Women sometimes take more time... depends on their comfort level with being in a same sex tryst.

Are there any women left who aren't whores? Is there even such thing as a woman who doesn't have sex until she is in a committed relationship that she expects to be long term? If I ever had to enter the single game again, I'd want no part of any woman who has had 100 dicks run through her. I have no interest in casual sex.

They still exist. Just too many of y'all looking in all the wrong places and for all the wrong reasons. My wife and I waited until our wedding night. Yes, our religion had a big part in it. At the end of the day, my faith and my relationship with her mattered more than the opinions of internet toughguys and hardlegs.

For the super religious that do this, it's all about their love for God.
Their love for God is greater than their partner. It's strange fo sho. Like God is telling them this is your soul mate no matter what, even if they can't please with sex, they can please in other ways and do the Lord's bidding.
