If fountain hill isn't in any danger why would bluff at 74 be?

And my parents live near 73/74 intersection.

Just looking at elevation maps, everything north/east of Bluff is 15ft+ and everything south/west is <10ft. As long as it doesn't get over 15, I'd think that area will be fine.

This is based strictly off of elevation maps with no specific knowledge or history of the area.

Water was coming up at 1" an hour and slowed down a little bit, and it will continue to slow slightly as it rises because every inch takes substantially more water to hit the next inch.

It was 8" below my friends how which is at 12' at around 6pm. At that rate it'll take a while for it to hit the slab.

They were dropping sand on the other side of the locks farther away from Manchac Highlands so I guess thats where the wash out is going to be. Here is the flood map. It shows two places it would cross Bluff and 74 end of Bluff would be getting water too. Also shows blue for back end of Fountain Hill

Fountain hill sits at about 26-27 feet, intersection of 74/Bluff is about 13-14

Man we've all been questioning what we used to know. With how much development there's been since '83 and this being higher than it was then, there's lots of uncertainty in what will happen.

We're praying alligator bayou road holds out.

this is exactly why i'm not worried AT ALL, and i'm in Lake at Twin Oaks.... the area to the west of OAS would take on the water that overfills Spanish Lake and it would continue to go west towards 3115/St. Gabriel/etc... the area immediately adjacent to Dutchtown High School is and will be fine...

i, like FH residents, cut grass this afternoon.... bout to put the kids to bed then have a night cap with my hot Asian wife.... y'all be safe...

I can hear the water flowing over it at the end of my street and I'm 200 yards from the water level on Alligator Bayou road

Would you evacuate right now if you lived off 74 in Oak Alley or Legacy Hills?

It's unbelievable.

All we need is one 48" pump pumping Braud bayou into the Mississippi and it'd let everyone sleep at night.

If you take bluff you would make a left on 74 and Oak Alley is right there to the right and legacy hills is father down.
