Source?

If they are, it's about time. It'll be too little way too late, but every bit helps. Super sacks of river sand are effective.

And every post that I don't see that is a huge exhale of pressure.

I'm about out of Pepto and I'm on the other side of the interstate.

I see the gauge @ Alligator/Manchac updated to 11.15ft so another .5 inch from previous measurement.

Well I'm sure we'd all agree we want it to hold. From what I've heard they are committed to making sure it holds so the need to evacuate the prison is not realized.

So the north entrance of OA would be ok?

I think it's all a matter of how long it can hold out. If the road can hold out long enough that the area only takes on a couple of extra feet it will be a blessing.

I saw them dropping the loads. Don't know how big the were. I saw first chopper drop several bundles at once.

I think it will. Gotta have faith man. If it goes, we're helpless. If it holds we have a chance.

I'm glad Mrs Josey moved out as well. At least she would have had friends there if she was still here.

Was it the big 2000lb super sacks or bundles of regular sacks?

Either way, that will actually do some good unlike loose sand. Super sacks are actually very effective.

i would think so, yeah... with how low lying the area to the west of Oak Alley South is and how big Spanish Lake is, i don't think i'd be sweating it too much in OAE

Good stuff. If they're making drops at any kind of fast rate that'll make a difference. I wonder if they'll continue to drop at night?

ETA: that's a chinook helicopter.

That's dropping 8k pounds per trip in a bag to keep it from washing out. It takes men with shovels a really long arse time to do that.

So, if I'm understanding this correctly...

By them maintaining the "dam" called Manchac Bayou Road, Manchac backflow will do what?

Continue to flood I-10?
Flood Perkins road?
Flood Santa Maria?
