WBRZ is reporting that water has covered the interstate AGAIN at Bluff. Are y'all seeing water rising over there?

Yes I saw a cop car and a couple trucks but its at the section with the trees and I was on the other side. The water did look higher in the median than I remembered right there from yesterday. Water was still couple feet from the yellow line.

If it is in fact back over I10 it came up FAST. I drove through there at around 6:30 and water was nowhere near the road.

Gumpfan, what are you seeing on the gauges?

Likely what I posted about yesterday, the water coming through the swamp by the S-Curve South of Alligator Bayou Road.

And of course that DOTD Camera is down....

Google is showing traffic backing up pretty good right there.

That's exactly what happened. This sucks but could be good for us. Puts pressure to stop the flow over AB rd.

I came through there last night about 830 and just before the 2 mile marker east bound I noticed water on the shoulder. That's the first time I've been out so I chalked it up to something that's been there.

At 7:15 Bayou Manchac/Little Prarie was at 14.82 ft.
At 7:00 Bayou Manchac/Alligator Bayou was at 14.67 ft.

I'm not sure what the accuracy of those gauges are, but hopefully Little Prairie drops below Alligator Bayou here in an hour or two.

I'm not sure how long it takes to kick a Bayou in drive after it's been in reverse for a few days though.

Need slackster in here to run another one of his fancy equations now that the curves are making a slight shift.

The gauges haven't changed pace since getting back to normal after the rain. Wonder if that's the effects of the rain just getting to its destination?

I just ran my regression analysis for the parabolic fit from data after the rain and came up with a peak crest of 13.015 ft at 1:12 am tomorrow morning (8/19).

How far were you able to get down bluff?

I'm needing to take it from the beginning all the way to 74.

Is 74 really closed all the way to 73? Seems unnecessary

Just got off the ridge.

Ran off another sightseer. Kid and his girlfriend wanting to know how deep it was so they could check it out.

Again, PLEASE DO NOT go "check it out"

At 8:15 Manchac at Little Prairie 14.69 ft
At 8:00 Manchac at Alligator Bayou 14.66 ft

Since that information is already almost an hour old, hopefully that means Manchac at I-10 might now get moving in the right direction.

Last I saw:
Ward - 17ish
Fountain -15ish
Alligator Bayou - 15ish
(not sure how much water is still back flowing)

WAFB predicting Amite at Manchac to be under 12 by Friday morning
Does that mean by Friday, normal flow of all creeks, bayous, and tributaries will start flowing back to the Amite?

This camera shot has the women's prison in the bottom and Hunt at the top. Bottom left corner is Hwy 74. Intersection with 30 at St. Gabriel would be a mile or so past the top left corner/left side of the photo.
