Yea I highly doubt they drop in the dark. Very unfortunate that they weren't doing heavy bag drops early this morning. That would have made a very big difference.

Oh well. Hang tough.

You should ask this on the main flood board. I'm interested as well. It seems like it would cause U Club to flood? Or to back up in to Santa Maria? I'm not real clear on the maps though.

He would've been fine. He lives around the corner from me and that neighborhood did ok.

So, if I'm understanding this correctly...

By them maintaining the "dam" called Manchac Bayou Road, Manchac backflow will do what?

Continue to flood I-10?
Flood Perkins road?
Flood Santa Maria?

As far as I can tell, the "dam" is figured into the current flooding and the flood maps. The reason water piles up on the other side is the existence of the road, but I wouldn't suggest it is screwing people over or anything.

Agreed, this is maintaining the current barriers, not creating new ones.

My aunt and uncle live to the right of the first main right curve on ridge road. She said they were watching the water rise on the left side earlier today. Also said they where helping someone sand bag a house off of knott lane, and it was not helping.

Think they will be ok?

Oh I've got you. He was the one that was coordinating distributing sandbags. He is the reason we decided to leave. After hearing what he had heard from the parish president. If I know who you're talking about. I just graduated LSU and moved back home to Beehive, so I may be rusty on the neighbors.

Depends on how high their slab is but those couple of houses right next to the Indian mound are pretty high and might make it through the night.

I'd be sitting on go.

Their house is the first one past the curve next to the creek. I think they are slightly above the road.

Man I don't like giving people advice on this because I have no idea what's going to happen tonight with manchac. If I were living right there, I'd probably be gone right now unless I had a good sandbag setup and was ready to fight it off.

Yeah, sounds right. We consider him. "Our neighborhood congressman."

Our house is 3 Ft off the ground. We left.

They didn't sand bag anything, just have the boat hooked up to one truck and the camper hooked up to another to leave. I told them leave before you have to use the boat to navigate the road.
