re: On a scale from 1-10, how much do you hate carpet?

When we moved into this house, almost every room was carpeted, even the den. It wasn't ugly, just too much of it. None of the original carpet is still there and only the living room and our bedroom has carpet.
Carpet installers come in two varieties, those that really know what they are doing and those that should have their thumbs cut off. There isn't much middle ground between the two.

I don't hate it. Our last house was carpeted except for kitchen, dining and bathrooms. The house we just bought has zero carpet. So it depends on the house, I guess.

Hahaha
When we bought our house my wife spilled a bowl of chicken stew in the living room after preaching to the kids about not tracking in mud. It was priceless.
The day we moved in

Same, I hate getting out of bed and my feet hitting a cold floor.

When we moved into this home we pulled up the carpet.I won't put any more carpet down after that nasty crap came up.
It didn't look bad,but it was bad.
Hardwood and rugs are the way to go.

8.
But my toddler has been unbelievably clumsy lately, and the carpet has saved quite a few scrapes and bruises. So probably closer to a 4 until he stops tripping over his own feet.

Hate hate hate carpet.
Also hate dated-looking ceramic tile everywhere or the gray/washed-out overly trendy laminate/vinyl crap.

We have an older house and have carpet in the spare bedroom and office. We have a weird mix in the rest of the house (wood, ceramic tile, old white tile from the 80 and slate).

Used to be a 10 but since having a kid I’ve come to appreciate it. Slightly

10.. because depending on how thick it is, it eats up ma lot of battery power in my chair.
Posted on 5/22/20 at 9:14 pm to Eli Goldfinger
I mean if she trims it, I don't mind. If the rest of the package is good enough, bush it is!

That’s a tough mix because it’s hard to justify ripping stuff out that may functionally be just fine (or a huge PITA to remove like tile).
In our perpetual house hunt, I’d almost rather see carpet everywhere because I know I won’t have to fight my SO over spending to rip it all out.
