I have conceal carry permit in bama which I assume is worthless. i really don’t want to carry a pistol on me anyway but really think i need to carry it on my car. (25 round 22 mag auto with laser etc. It’s a bad mfer)

Louisiana doesn’t require a CCP to carry a firearm anywhere in your vehicle. You’re motor vehicle is an extension of your home. Also, Louisiana and Alabama have reciprocity.

You can open carry in La, and no permit is needed to have a loaded firearm in your vehicle.

I believe that Alabama and Louisiana have reciprocating agreement for CCP.

You're good to conceal and carry in your car in Louisiana.

Also the french quarter is free range to conceal, you can’t go into to “bars”. You can conceal in restaurants that serve alcohol, but you can’t conceal in bars, so any place that checks ID’s is a no go.

New Orleans may have the highest incidence of vehicle burglaries in the nation. Anything left in your car when you aren't there probably won't be there when you get back.

I know you don't plan on Open Carry in New Orleans but a warning anyway. NOPD does not care that it is legal to Open Carry in Louisiana, they will arrest you, take your gun and throw you in Jail. Good luck getting out too, you will probably sit until the middle of next week if you get caught this weekend. They don't care that it will be thrown out, and it will take an act of congress to get your gun back. It just simply isn't worth it. I mean going to New Orleans when I say "worth it"

You're carrying a 22 mag for self defense?

Everyone that has a CCP should download a map of US and highlight the states that have reciprocity and keep it in your vehicle at all times.....you're welcome.

LA has reciprocity with Alabama. However, it is illegal to carry during a parade, so, keep that in mind. Not saying don’t, just saying don’t be stupid.

It’s Mardi Gras, and it’s illegal to carry during parades in NOLA or anywhere for that matter. I would recommend deep conceal and staying sober.

Do you even need a CCP with one of these?

Daisy BB Pistol

If you're going 22 - why not - it's $15

This. Plus, regarding the actual parades, it was said in my concealed class that it is illegal to carry “in” the parade. No one has ever defined what “in the parade” means. Teacher said many times that day,”do you want to the the one in court to try this?”

Only thing I will say is that you should not leave it in your vehicle. The cockroaches will sniff it out bust your window and take it.

With or without permits, I'm always concealed. Especially in a crowded unfamiliar place!
