It’s a combination of the responsibility of man:

quote:

16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His [e]only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:16

And the sovereignty of God.

quote:

29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

Rom. 8:29-30

22 [n]What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? 23 And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory,

Rom. 9:22

God forknows who will come to accept him.

Does the creator need a creator?

frick. This shite fricks my head up. Me thinking about how an a powerful being created everything while wondering where that creator come from is too much to handle.

It’s like a rock trying to do trigonometry. It just ain’t happening for me.

You are correct. Either God is in charge or we are.

That's because creator god is fake news. It's a mystery how any of this came into being.

You're missing the point that god was invented to be the bottom-most turtle.

It's not happening for anybody.

Concerning the subject of this thread, my favorite example is Jesus telling Peter he was going to deny him three times. If Peter had free will, he could've just stayed home, but that would have made a liar out of Jesus. They don't call it "The Greatest Story Ever Told" for nothing.

In the original Greek John 3:16 does not say that those who choose to believe will have eternal life. It says the believing ones will have eternal life. The Bible clearly states elsewhere who is a believer. In every instance it is those whom God has willed that belief. John 3:16 does not contradict God’s sovereignty in salvation. Mans responsibility is also not negated by God’s sovereignty. It makes His act of grace necessary.

Omnipotence means you are all powerful. It does not mean you use that power.

You don’t know if it’s true or not. It’s a belief, like you believe there is no God. The first sentence isn’t a fact.

But you are right that it is a mystery to us. It will most likely never understand the absolute facts and truth.

God is outside time and space.

He knows our future and what we will do with our free will.

Some he knows will believe and some he knows will not and others may never hear of him.

He says he is the only way to heaven , he is the truth, and the life.

Smart and good (by earthly standards ) people believe and don't believe in Christ.

I always put it this way:
I have some doubt but not much
I have many questions
I am comfortable with what my church teaches and what I believe (not 100 percent match as with anything in life)
If you are on the fence why not believe (fire insurance?) and keep a sincere search on
And atheism give more questions than it answers.

I think anyone who is arrogant for atheism is just wayyy to self centered and prideful. Similarly anyone who is not humble and sincere and deep thinking as a Christian is wayyy to superficial and hypocritical.

The omnipotent power by definition can do anything it wants, including granting free will to sentient beings

What if we live in a multiverse where many paths lay before us and are only set when we make decisions. What if God just knows all the paths and thus the outcome of all possible choices?

The Bible nowhere teaches a life insurance mentality. It clearly teaches that only those to whom God reveals his truth will believe. There is no smart enough. God says he uses the wisdom of the world to confound the wise. His truth is considered weakness and foolishness by the unconverted. His ways are higher than our ways. No one will be able to boast for salvation is of the Lord.
