Once this vaccine gets full approval the anti-vaccine group will say the approval is not good enough.

Can't win with that type of thinking.

Vaccines are commonly required to work in hospitals and have been for a very, very long time. COVID has really broken people mentally.

Do they fire employees while claiming they have a shortage of employees as well?

Yeah, but those werent experimental MRNA vaccines....

Not really experimental anymore. But they aren't FDA approved yet. Which I think makes the rule risky from a legal standpoint.

I'm sure their lawyers had input into this though. And they probably know more about the FDA approval timeline than we do.

It always amuses me those on here screaming “I don’t trust the federal government at all! Not one bit”

Are also usually the same ones saying “I won’t take a vaccine until it’s fully approved………..by the federal government”

People don't want to hear this, but no one is forcing those employees to work at OLOL. They can work for other employers or choose not to work if they want to avoid the vaccine.

I have no problem with OLOL "mandating" the vaccines, that is their decision. What I do have a problem with is the ultimatum that came a day after seeing them claim they are short-staffed and overwhelmed and people are dying because of it. Seems like if the situation was so dire you wouldn't be taking a chance of running off what help you do have, because, they don't have to work for OLOL.

Also the group saying "The feds can't tell me what to do" while wanting to go to federal court to get the courts to tell business what to do.

Correct.

The reality is that these employees aren't being forced to work for this particular hospital group. If they don't like the vaccine requirement, they can leave.

OLOL apparently thinks that they'd lose fewer man-hours by people walking away from their job than they would people taking extended time off for quarantine.

IF they are in fact overwhelmed like they say they are, they would not turn away competent and capable staff.

I am told yesterday by a RN working there they need 200 additional nurses. Just a year ago these same unvaccinated employees were “healthcare hero’s”!

That's the next goalpost shift, though. Once it gets full approval the line will be "Ha! You thought I was going to trust the government?!"

Are we allowed to not trust the Federal government when it is in cahoots with the pharmaceutical companies that have been given immunity to any negative repercussions that their vaccines may cause? Or is that laughable, too?

Y'all keep throwing around the FDA approval bullshite like y'all actually know what any of that means.

Shut up. We have to wait for the government agency we do not trust to tell us that the vaccine we do not trust is okay to use.

That of course is not the case one would have coverage under CICP/VICP which is a type of tort reform and works a little like the workers comp system in that you give up the ability to sue under a tort COA but do not have to prove negligence only show causation and damages.

If it is mandated by the employer as a condition of employment you would in all likelihood be covered by comp which would have subrogation rights in the CICP/VICP claim later, but these can usually be negotiated for less than dollar for dollar.

Didn't the head of OLOL come out yesterday and say that they didn't have enough employees to fight Covid, and yet today they are going to fire everyone without a vaccine. You would think that the shortage isn't that bad if they are taking measures like this.

And it was closed for years, resulting in OLOL becoming Earl K Lake.

Even with Midcity reopening, OLOL’s ER waiting room looks like visiting day at Angola.
