I think it depends. You have people who are not fazed or intimidated by jail do to probably being in and out frequently, and then you have guys like this who probably never envisioned themselves going to jail and are going to have to get to a place of mental acceptance of where they are. Which I assume is really difficult

I wonder if there are suicide numbers for wealthy people who receive legit time at a legit max prison

Why? I mean I hope he is. I just don't see why another inmate would want to kill him.

I was just thinking that he won't fit the profile of most if not all of the other prisoners. Clean cut and from a fairly well to do family. Not to mention a lot of the prisoners will already know about this case.

I wasn't thinking he'd be a target for murder but definitely other types of mistreatment.

A place like parchman, he may not be murdered, but he would be a constant target. People that can’t stand up for themselves are the exact type of people that commit suicide. Guys that have a couple years and are strong willed will deal with being beaten or exploited. But you have to imagine guys with life sentences are much more susceptible to suicide.

Someone else mentioned Aaron Hernandez. He had cte. He absolutely lost his shite locked in a cell 23 hours a day

I think everyone in long term prison has issues but only 16 out of 100,000 commit suicide

Whenever I hear about things like this I pray for the victim and their family, as well the suspect and their family. I was raised that we are not supposed to judge someone until we walk in their shoes.

This young man's senseless act destroyed so many peoples lives. Its a sad story for everyone involved.

Hopefully as the case unfolds there will be more info that will give some sort of explanation. Drugs or booze are not an excuse, but may give some sort of explanation.

Unfortunately for him, he will spend the rest of his life suffering. May God have mercy on his soul.

they may not want to kill him. but he is a very young looking rich white kid going to Parchman.

Are you that naive that you think he will be just another inmate? Go watch a youtube on Parchman.

Makes sense. Don't think he will be making any friends in there. He deserves every bit of missery coming his way.

Do you realize how many people are in prison?

And I don’t agree with that stat. You’ll have to prove it with it link

Yeah this doesn’t seem likely to me. He killed her early Sunday morning right? They just picked him up this morning? That gives him over 48 hours to clean his truck up and clean up his act.

I’m very surprised he was still in town to be honest. Can’t believe he didn’t go home. Wouldn’t be hard to pull out $500 in cash for gas, toss the cell phone, and park the truck in mom and dad’s garage. Would have taken the police a week a couple extra days to find him.

Yeah and if he’s a not a compete sociopath like you are alluding to (based on proxy from your friends accounts with him), hopefully he’ll take responsibility and be done with it.

Drunk or not murder is the furtherest end of the spectrum - dude was harboring some dark thoughts.

Pretty much.

Prisoners have a hierarchy and someone who killed a girl and an unborn child would be pretty low down on the totem pole.

Not as low as a cop or child molester but certainly not someone who would be feared or respected.

I hear you. I was just responding to someone who said he will be murdered or commit suicide. I could definitely see him being harassed.

Of course he does but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will kill himself.

What's your deal? I put a link in my post. The article stated suicide rate is higher in local jails but after conviction its 16 per 100,000. Still higher than general population.

This is probably why people assume he was drunk as frick because someone thinking clearly would have been disposing of evidence.

If he had been thinking like the guy who killed Mickey Shunik from OT threads last, he’d have driven the truck out to bumfrick and torched it, claiming it had been stolen.

If he actually was thinking, he wouldn't have murdered her in the first place
