The majority seems to have spoken, and that message is that they do not want the flag on campus any longer.

Except that it isn't a majority. It is a loud, whiny minority that has far too much power since those in power seems to have lost their balls and Bend over to accommodate them.

These people are setting a dangerous precedent. I will come for things that you enjoy next. Giving into them only Emboldens them.

I predict many MS state and rebel flags will be bought and flown this semester out of spite

I'm not sure what you're trying to infer. The article seems to imply that there was broad student support for removing the flag.
Meh. I'd bet that most students don't even know who their representatives are. When I was in school, I could name only one SG president, and that's because he is a childhood friend of mine. I don't ever remember SG elections, though.

And anyone who doesn't believe that these people will make their way for the American flag is naive. The "US is a symbol of racism and slavery and genocide of the Indians" argument persists to this day.

I don't even care about the history anymore. I just think it's a cool looking flag.

TRIGGERED. You should judge flags by their personality, not looks. Stop being so flagophobic

Openly and publicly persecuted under the American Flag:

Native Americans
Africa Americans
Jews
Muslims
Japanese
Chinese
Vietnamese
Korean
Women
Mentally Handicapped
Canadians
Mexicans
Cubans
Russians
Communists

Take that one down too.

Also, stop teaching history at your university. It's offensive.

Further, the English language is used daily some places to repress people. Quit teaching it.

We need a new flag, new language, and we only teach history from this point forward only about current events and only in the new language.

Let's just introduce a bill and get this over with.

All symbols, art, music, movies, literature, and monuments that have a sympathetic representation of the states in rebellion from 1861-1865 shall henceforward be banned. All existing symbols, art, music, movies, literature and monuments will be destroyed.

Except for the Outlaw Josey Wales. That was a great fricking movie.

As long as everyone is hurting the guy, it's ok.

Thsts one of the best episodes of that show.

The end, when the boys reveal what they don't like about the flag is perfect.

That was over a decade ago.

I was hoping I'd see you in here. The American Flag is way worse than the "Confederate" Flag in regards to the terrible shite done while it flew

This was already proposed a couple times. And people were desecrating grave sites when all this first hit the media.

Take down the headstones and build affordable housing on the graves. Got to think outside the "box."

If 20% want the flag removed and will fight for that, 10% want it to stay and will defend it, and the other 70% don't give a shite one way or the other, guess who is going to get their way.

I don't think it should be any different either. The majority of people who actually give a shite have spoken. That is my point.

If you don't want the flag to be removed, you should focus your disdain on the 70% who couldn't be bothered one way or the other.
