Saw a video on YouTube a few years ago where a guy got stopped for a burnt headlight but the cop who stopped him also had a burnt headlight. Apparently the cop was going to write him a ticket until he started recording, then the cop said "I'm just giving you a warning" and the guy said something like "give yourself a warning as well". Wish I could find it again.

Apparently you can drive around BR with no license plate so why should I get an inspection sticker?

They can still drive away, just with no sticker. I thought they put this big arse orange sticker if it failed inspection?

June of 1984. We have an old IH Dump/Bean Truck that is used for only hauling soybeans to the grain bin in the instance that none of the other trucks are back from the road. It's used so infrequently and travels maybe no more than 5 or 6 miles from the field to the house that my father never gets it inspected.

Most of the time it sits under the shed not being used and is a bitch to get fired up if it has not run in a while. It's also real fun to drive with about 500 bushels loaded in it as it has no power steering.

I don’t understand why Louisiana doesn’t require it to have the vehicle registered? They would clean up this issue very quickly.
In your question lies the answer.

I had a roommate a few years back who had one from 05/15. Was only 5-ish years out of date at the time so not too bad.

They do. But most people don't want that bright arse orange sticker in their window. I've seen him issue a failed orange sticker, and the person tore it off before they drove off.

Old boy near my house probably inspects about 8-10 cars in an hour.
Writes down info in book
You sign the book.
Hand him $20
Sticks new sticker on.
You drive off.
One hell of a racket.

My dad issues state inspection stickers. As soon as they pull in, he scrapes them off before he even looks at the vehicle. That way, they cant just drive away if he tells them something aint right

He’s part of the problem then

We moved to TN in 2018 where they don't do inspections, but before that I drove a 2009 truck that I got re-inspected once and left the 2010 sticker on until I got a ticket in 2015-2016ish for it being expired. Paid the ticket, just took the sticker off and rolled like that without any other issues.

Grifters constantly say it helps keeps dangerous vehicles off the road; but those with vehicles they know wont pass just don't bother to get them inspected.

I wish Louisiana would focus more on ensuring their roads were vehicle worthy rather than our vehicles were road worthy....but there's no money in that for them to launder.

LADOTD is punishing the citizens since the gas tax increase failed 4+ years ago. Add c19 dotd hasn’t done shite in years.

Please tell me this is true, mine expired 3/22 and I'd rather not have to deal with it again.

Also, Think about it this way. Arkansas doesn't have inspection stickers, but their state police can pull you over for a "vehicle inspection" No probable cause needed for a traffic stop. Louisiana isn't supposed to be able to do that.
