The new storm spins off of a boundary Harvey leaves behind as it transitions into a post tropical system. It's a different circulation altogether.
And hasn't been forecast on tv for a week...like his original post stated.

Question. What keeps this from spinning up into something big like Harvey did?

Is that the one of the coast of Africa? That's a third system. I believe the OP is referring to a system that is bubbling off the SW coast of Mexico. Looks like a piece of it breaks off, goes through Mexico and reforms in the gulf.

Although this is over a week away, so things can change

and check out 93L peeking its head out in the bottom right....

Wonder if it will squeeze between Florida and Cuba or will there be a front to turn it away or perhaps be a threat to the east coast? Looks like it could potentially be a big one

So that low that all of a sudden pops up middle of next week is the remnants of Harvey? I'm almost certain there is a post in the Harvey thread that shows this in motion and the low comes from Mexico.

From what the weather channel has said today its a good bet it will get pulled out into the Atlantic by A strong cold front coming through the Midwest of the country.........

RDS said he wishes he was confident it would steer into the Atlantic. Thats a slight suggestion that this thing may find its way into the Caribbean. He suggested Harvey would head to Texas before the models seemed to have a good Idea what it was going to do.

That put me at a 50% panic that it will enter the gulf.

Now PJ predicts that this to go into the Atlantic.

This puts me at a 99% panic that somebody in the Gulf will be absolutely fricked.
