Also, how did you know how to find your friends to hang out without cellphones?

And how would you quietly argue with your spouse while at work without texting?

thanks in advance for the history lesson.

Goddamn kids and their newfangled devices.

In my day, you filled out the order form on the Sears catalog while taking a shite in the outhouse and we liked it that way.

We sold our watches to buy combs, and sold our hair to buy watch chains.

This thread is dumb but one thing that always amazes me is back in the day people would order stuff and it would take 8-10 weeks for delivery. Really. Two months!

A nickel cost $5, a dime cost $10, a quarter cost $25. Math was so much simpler back then.

And nickles used to have pictures of bumblebees on them.

“Give me five bees for a quarter”, you’d say.

To "argue" implies that both parties had an equal right to speak. I'm not sure why she would open her mouth

But seriously, we used Sears catalog.

And then we used the bra and lingerie section to masturbate.

Once you became desensitized enough to need real pornography, you became friends with the kid in school who could get porn from older brothers or foreigners at their ghetto convenience store.

And our parents fought like cats and dogs from around supper time until they fell asleep because they were staying together for us kids!

Hope this answers everything.

There were catalogs for all kinds of stuff to order. Clothes were pretty much purchased at stores. Electronics were purchased at places like Best Buy. Sound Trek was THE place to go for electronics, stereo stuff back in the day.

And you'd tie an onion to your belt, which was the style at the time.

You made a plan and hoped that it worked out. If you went to the bar and your friends weren't there yet you just talked to other people because everyone wasn't staring at their phone terrified of someone making eye contact.
