He's elderly so he could be experiencing dementia. We don't know what sort of threats were made and what was suggested about the Uber driver.'s involvement or potential threat status. Does the old guy know what Uber is and how a relatively unmarked car shows up to a specific address? The court will hear what we don't.

Sounds like some dementia, Junior Soprano kinda thing. Terrible for the unarmed lady though.

I use a pickup service called Roadie all the time. It's awesome.
I know folks who use Roadie regularly, they speak highly of it.

That psychotic old piece of shite can rot in prison until he croaks. Stole a life for what? Absolutely nothing.

Upon her arrival, she “did not have any idea,” Schultz said, according to the outlet. Brock confronted her, asking who she was working with, took her cell phone and blockaded her exit.
Hall was shot three times, Schultz said, and allegedly only after the third time “did he then make contact with authorities to report the incident."

I still don’t understand why the scammer sent a Uber to the old man house.
It says the scammer asked for a wire transfer. The old man refused.
I could understand if the scammer asked for cash or something. Also the Uber was in Ohio, the scammer allegedly was in Canada .
So in the scammers mind, what was the point of the Uber ?

Since when did Uber become UPS? Never heard of them being called to pick up packages.
I think quite awhile- it’s basically Uber eats but without the challenge of the package being food

This woman lost her life and this man will die in prison because of some scammer piece of shite.
If they catch the scammer, he should receive life in prison.
If only the fbi was focused on their real responsibilities.

A lot of it is all over the place. He did say they asked for a wire transfer, but I guess it’s possible they thought they could try to get cash. The scammers may have been lost in translation. The Canada thing could be a manipulated location.
I am interested where the Uber was set to go after the potential pickup. That is really what I want to know. Unless at this point the scammer was just screwing with the guy.
The other part that makes no sense is the scammer said the guy’s family member was in jail and they wanted money to bail them out or else they would hurt his family.
I mean how does that begin to make any sense?

Man either has dementia or just looking for any reason to shoot someone.
Probably has had his brain melted by watching news anchors tell him that people are actively trying to kill him and people like him on a daily basis.

Don't let his family off of the hook. They had a part to play in this.
Edited for the Down Voters...
The family should have been monitoring that old man. They should have removed all the guns from the house. Come on... If every family took care of their own, our society would look a lot different...

that and he was more than a little trigger happy shooting someone that wasn't a threat.
For real. That is in no way a good shoot, regardless of the scam occurring. That lady was not a physical threat in the least.
