Right at the last moment when God was creating the division between Man and animal, the dog jumped across and stood with man.

We don’t deserve the grace God provides us and we don’t deserve the joy dogs give us

I hate to hear about your pupp. I know your pain. I lost my best buddy of 15 years earlier this year. I buried her on my farm in a fruit orchard. There will be a new fruit tree planted there this year. I’m still sad. I am happy she was able to see me through some tough times. She loved my little boys and they also miss her. Good dogs are hard to come by. She wasn’t a good dog. She was the best dog ever.

They're actually easy to find.

It's what makes them great. There are so many good ones.

My heart goes out to you. There is NOTHING like a dog. Man’s first, and longest , domesticated animal.
She’s beautiful and I know you, your family and she have had a great life.
She’ll always be with you.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When your loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.
Take naps.
Stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Be faithful.
Never pretend to be something you’re not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.
That’s the secret of happiness that we can learn from a good dog.

Lost my gal of 13 years last July to a severe case of bloat. A tough decision to put her down but what made it nearly unbearable was the fact we were vacationing in Utah and couldn’t be with her at her final moments. That has haunted me ever since. RIP, Molly.

But as I type this I’m stroking Dolly, my sleeping, 14-month old double-doodle (Labradoodle/Griffondoodle) and don’t dare wake that hyper little bitch.

I once saw one of those hand-carved wooden signs with words etched into the wood in a little country store in New Hampshire that said:

“Every dog owner in the world thinks their dog is the best dog in the world. And every one of them is right.”

Other than the loss of my family members, I’ve never been as upset as when I lost my golden retriever to cancer. It’s awful, and I hope you find some peace.

Sorry man. I lost my dog back in March. I still look for him every time I come home from somewhere and when I get up in the morning.
