LOL. Hey if they going to make me wear a mask, I ain’t paying for nothing.

Physically threatening store employees is waaaaay crazier than telling people to wear masks.
These people were just true patriots doing what they had to do to fight back against government overreach. And it worked.

People are tired of the restrictions and are feeling the pressure on both sides. Misdirected frustration.

I'm certainly not supporting this kind of behavior but I can also understand the frustration when a 26 year old, with purple hair, wearing both a face shield and a mask, denies a baw entry somewhere.

It goes to show you how wishy washy a lot of government officials have been during the last few weeks.
Posted on 5/3/20 at 9:54 am to Major Dutch Schaefer
most likely the stores were being huge dicks towards people not wearing masks and the people reacted accordingly and tensions on both sides escalated quickly. It was probably Karen working the entries and threatened them with police brutality if they didn't conform.
Two sides to every story. I seriously doubt people just walked up to store employees and started threatening them with zero provocation. OKC is a nice city.

IMO, it shows that these politicians know they are overstepping and are doing it just to see what they can get away with. They are very prepared to immediately rescind when people speak up because they know they crossed lines.
This is a great reminder that rights and liberties you don't exercise will be taken from you.

2) Do you not think it is crazy that our elected leaders are REQUIRING free people to wear masks if they go in public?
It’s not about being out in public spaces, it’s within private businesses.

Yeah, businesses are going to piss off people who want to give them money.

They're not allowed to enter.

It should be up to the individual businesses, not the government. The government should give guidelines and people should make choices based off those guidelines.

They are now!! Must not have been too important of a rule if it was changed back so easily.

You are not "giving money" to the people being assholes.
These people should not have done this. The business can have whatever rules it wants.
Forced mask wearing by the government at this point several months into this thing is stupid. It is just virtue signalling.

You are misreading the point. The private businesses are not electing to require masks here. It is a public mandate that they be worn if you leave home and private businesses are required to enforce this if they want to open.
I personally have no problem in the event a private business decides to require masks but believe the public mandate to be ridiculous, knowing tha e fact that the virus turns out to be about as lethal as the flu for 99.2% of people.

And somehow you think that makes it better? The government telling private businesses that their customers do or don’t have to wear masks?

The mayor of an Oklahoma city amended an emergency declaration requiring customers to wear face masks while inside businesses after store employees were threatened with violence.
I'm not saying masks should be required, but this is basically letting the inmates run the prison.

Yes, we will. Like you, I predict many new cases. And, despite the fact that 99% of these people will heal just fine, I predict more calls for economic shutdown and lots of "I told you so's".
The non-thinkers misread the facts though. New cases is not a determining factor for making a case for continued economic shutdown. Instead, the original rational was focused upon overwhelming the medical community and rampant death by otherwise healthy people. Neither is the case today.
