That’s the dumbest shite I’ve ever heard of.
Oh it gets better. If you want to repair a mobile/modular home you have to get a local permit but before you do that you now have to get a permit from the state fire marshalls new modular home inspection department. You can't get their permit until the home is fully repaired so they can inpect it so you are literally only able to obtain permits when the job is 100% completed.
I just went through that on a flip. It's maddening. We had to repair the whole job using generators since we couldn't get permits to get power.

It is probably not impossible.
This is where I was going. So in other words, we still don't know the whole story with Peej other than he lost a trailer and had renters insurance?

but from the commercial real estate and valuation side, banks rarely consider a it as part of the real estate they are willing to loan on in a typical manner.
When they are loaning on a going concern of an operation with mobile home, they categorize it as F,F & E usually - the same way that furniture and fixtures are categorized for hotels.
What does a commercial loan have to do with a single-family mortgage?

I’m sorry you’re going through this.
Home is home, and I hope you get it all back. Hang in there brother.

I never knew hurricanes caused that much fricking mildew on the outside of a trailer that fast.

That shouldn’t be very hard.

Very sorry to hear you got tree fiddied. Did you have insurance?
Posted on 9/12/21 at 7:05 pm to stout
No I have no idea. But I donated to buy 4 cubbies a new bike. So I don't really care the specifics. I donate to friends of friends and stuff irl even if I don't know them. He had a tree through his house and I didn't. Donating the amount of dinner or multiple starbucks runs doesn't affect my budget.
All kinds of people I knew and did not know brought me stuff when my house flooded and I had insurance. Doesn't change the fact that you have out of pocket expenses you were not expecting.

Those clothes hangers are in mint condition

IDC if you donated. People can donate all they want. That was never my intention.
I do find it odd that many posters are in the same position currently and many were last year as well yet Peej is the only one people are going apeshit over raising money for. Then we find out he only rents and has renters insurance for his contents. Just a weird situation IMO. That's all.

I don't remember mentioning a single family mortgage. Doesn't OP rent anyway? Seems like commercial methodology would be more applicable to topic at hand.
But I was probably wrong in saying it is rarely considered real estate, clearly there is a lower threshold for single family / homestead type stuff than in my area of expertise.

Why would we be talking about commercial aspects? Everyone but apparently you knew we were talking about a single property and if that single property could be insured up to a certain age and if being in a park matters as well.

Only if he owned the park.
Look, quit trying to save face by arguing something no one was even discussing. You can get a mortgage on a mobile home and they are assessed and appraised as an improvement once immobolized. That's it. End of that discussion.

Don't worry about assholes online, good luck moving forward - you just gotta do right by yourself and your family.

They are not always appraised as a fixed improvement but this has become a pretty moronic back and forth given the topic at hand.
