Spent my last holiday in the field this past Easter. I was able to diagnose fracs in the best onshore plays in North America and met some of the sharpest people in the industry doing it, but I’m happy to have my weekends and holidays back as well as work from home whenever I desire.

Don't miss that shite one bit. I remember crew changing on Christmas Eve one year. Nothing more depressing than driving to the heliport at 2am knowing you're not gonna be home until mid January

I spent Christmas night one year laying down drill pipe on a land rig. It was cold AF and raining sideways for 12hrs.

That was the exact time I knew for sure I wasn’t doing that shite the rest of my life.

I've been in the oilfield/offshore for 20+ years. Finally got me an oilfield job on land and I'm home for Christmas. Next year I probably won't be home but it's OK. Christmas is when I'm home.

I’m on week 5 of a 6 week rotation on a research vessel. Finally get home on the 30th. Can’t wait.

I think I’ve been home for 4 Christmas’ since 2003 between my time in the Navy and working in the energy sector.

ETA: good catch baw. Even my phone is tired of this shite

Probably smoking meth, watching porn and trying to murder each other for promotions and personal grudges. Business as usual.

In the airport now headed to Madrid Spain. Spend Christmas Day there then off to the desert of North Africa.

Merry Christmas to everyone and may God keep us all safe this holiday season.
