Oh is this the fun thread where out of work oilfield baws come to talk about how choosing to be a lawyer is a shitty idea? Count me in.
FWIW OP, that’s a good lsat score and gpa so Lsu will likely offer a significant scholarship.

Why do you want to go law school? Money? Respect? Prestige? Envy of others?
The money isn't worth all the BS you'll have to put up with on a daily basis. No one really respects lawyers, they know you're just in it for the money and honestly have no respect for their clients, so why should they respect you? You'll be widely considered a prestigious dbag, people will look at you differently and you'll be judged merely off your occupation. No one will be envious of your job, they'll look at you and be glad they aren't you. So why would you want to be you? Not to mention, the market for lawyers is extremely saturated and competitive. It'll take you years, if ever, to get to the point that you are probably envisioning once you become a licensed lawyer.
Unless you have a fetish for this kind of stuff put your intelligence towards something else. You can thank me later for saving you the headache and money

I had a lower GPA but higher percentile on LSAT. Full ride.

I knew I would not be steered wrong among the esteemed OT ballers. I have now left college and am currently trucking until I make enough for Bitcoin purchases

If you don't mind me asking, how much higher of an LSAT? Do you think I stand a chance at full ride with a good resume?

Have you every met a happy lawyer? Even rich one?
I’ve had a few dealings with corporate lawyers. You’d think they’d be among the happiest of lawyers. Well compensated and don’t have to chase ambulances or deal with the dregs of society.
The ones I’ve been around are angry and bitter. The only happiness I’ve seen from them was gained by beating somebody else down verbally. I can’t imagine they become happy people when they leave work.

<-- Higher LSAT and had just gotten my M.A. with a G.P.A. of 4.0. Ultimately finished upper middle of the pack at LSU Law in the early 2000s. Zero scholarships.
Don't do it. I mean seriously: Don't do it. Go to med school, get a MBA. Do anything but the soul-sucking career of the law.

I hate to start a law school post (OT ballers spare me), but I'm curious on thoughts and experience with potential scholarships from LSU law with my 165 LSAT and 3.87 GPA at LSU.
You should be pretty well set. You'll definitely get at least a 50% scholy. I had a partial scholarship with a 156, so you'll have no problems.
As for Tulane, you'll likely get in with a partial scholarship, but they have a tendency to really drag their feet with letting you know that. Odds are, they won't notify you that you've been accepted with a scholarship until after the final deadline to enroll at LSU.
As far as which school to choose depends entirely on what you want to do.
LSU gives you more career contacts in state.
Tulane gives you better contacts out of state in D.C. and New York especially.
LSU will be far far FAR more rigorous, while Tulane engages in a fair amount of grade inflation, more of a "pay your fees, get your B's" kinda place.
LSU is also much less expensive.
