It's a harmless chicken snake. Just pick it up and put it outside. No venom but will bite.

I'm not sure it's just a rat snake. It's head looks pretty pointy and that looks like it could be venom glands behind the eyes. It looks like it could be a cotton mouth that hasn't developed a uniform color yet. I wouldn't take a chance with it.

Remember the epic thread a couple years ago when a guy thought he had one in his truck? What ever happened to that guy?

Looks like a rat snake. Let him live, unless you prefer rats/mice running through your walls.

Rat snake, too skinny to be a cottonmouth. Harmless unless you have a pet rat

The sentiment is the ridiculousness of killing something that provides a benefit to you, and literally poses zero threat and minimal inconvenience. Just because "EW A SNAKE!!!11"... Seems pretty silly. And sissified.

To expound upon this, it is a living creature and part of the beauty of the biological diversity of the planet. I find the desire to exterminate everything and mistreat the life with which we share the planet to be disturbing, especially if it is for no other reason than irrational fear. I find the lack of respect for life to be quite frankly pretty disturbing.
