Whoever did this had to have a plan. They have a hell of a head start to move repaint the plane. I wonder what can be done to the 777 electronically to make it look like another plane?

ABC news reported a day or two ago that all of our "intelligence" assets were focused on MH370.

There no threat to the US, but I'm sure we are heavily involved...

What about that huge airport Exxon built in Papa New Guine? Does the country use it now? Could have landed it there....

I wouldn't bank on it. There is always a possibility and these cats seem smart.

My guess is the pilot committed suicide. He killed everyone at the high altitude, and then offed himself after putting the plane on a course towards the middle of the Indian Ocean.

Possible landing spots, there are 17-18,000 islands in Indonesia only 8,000 or so have been named and less than a 1000 are inhabited, many have runways from world war two, but thousands are so desolate that someone could set up camp build an air strip and no one would ever notice.

A senior U.S. military official told ABC News that they had not ruled out that the plane was flown to a secret site so it could be used at a later date.

The official added that "all our intelligence assets" are being used to try to figure this out.

I would buy a "considerable number".
All, then the senior military official is some 2nd Lt.

There is no chance a unregistered/unidentified 777 would be allowed within hundreds of miles of the US coast.

Ever watch that show on HGTV with rich people buying islands.
Would be pretty legit

Yeah especially you can just land on one and claim it like they did with the moon.
Insert your own flag, "it's mine"

Since I don't want to read 200 plus pages can someone give a general synopses of where this stands?

Couldn't they change the signal that the plane emits?
Follow a scheduled flight, with beacons off. Real flight switches beacons off, and fake plane switches itself on.
Then it comes in as a real flight - but it's not.

you dont have to change a signal if you can fly in another planes shadow, and if it were a nuke you only have to get close
